The STX thread!
You can't stop people from being stupid though, and both time's I've seen someone go in that was exactly what did it, drive like an asshat.
It's such an awesome venue compared to all the others available locally these days... crazy camber, little to no off-course hazards to worry about (except the occasional deer?), amazing mountain views, indoor pits, awesome echos from the buildings, trees and mountains, and it's never very crowded since it's out in the middle of nowhere... though being out in the middle of nowhere is kind of a bummer too, I have to leave my house by 5:45am to make it in time for morning registration.
After that, one weekend off and then the back-to-back Wendover events. Gettin' lots of seat time!
Anijo, are you going to either of the Packwood events this month?
An old supercharged Alpha, very awesome car and guy. Sad to see it happen. The tranny locked up and instant spin. It was in setting up for a slolom and pretty straight 35-40 mph. Both rear tires locked up and into trees about 50 ft from where the line. Did a good bit of damage.
And to make this comment applicable to this thread: A student of mine had an STX prepped RX8 at the autocross school this weekend, and holy smokes does it transition like lightning. I see why you guys do this...
(That's not a slight of your 1st place accomplishment - just curious.)
lol Thats true. That's cool though, Detroit huh? Should have taken some pics! Would have loved to see that STX RX8.
KJ, We usually have a really angry Nissan 240 SX with 350 WHP show up with a gigantic wing (won Nationals last year in SM) but they blew their engine first event, so it was against the same drivers, one in a G35, the other in his black Evolution, there was a WRX, a new Camaro, and a few other cars that I honestly can't remember. Soon as the results are posted I'll update this post or something.
Keep in mind too, my car has a lot of work done to it as well..all that needs to improve is driver skill.

Z..? 240 SX, not a Z.

Page 325, David White who is the Co-Driver with PJ (who owns the car actually). Unless I'm supposed to say something else? I'm just asking because I was accidently calling Divisionals a "Divisional Nationals" by accident before, so I could just be saying the wrong thing again. My mistake if so!

) was 4th, just over 3secs back from Simanyi in the M3. And fwiw the top three cars/drivers from natls did not run SM at the Pro Solo Finale, where the 240 won.
Are you on street tires or is that an old pic or optical illusion on my monitor?
Yeah I'm on street tires. I'm one of those stubborn/firm believers in that I won't really benefit from R comps until I'm at the level that I'm pushing the car to the limits on street tires. Again, that's just me though.
BTW KJ, when you say elbow deep..do you mean driving in it..or..? Just confused. And didn't know that about the pro-finale, thanks about that. So I guess is one technically better/harder/more honorable than the other or no? Just trying to get an idea of the whole thing essentially.

We had our first Regional ProSolo in the rain today.
This was my first time at a Pro Solo or doing a drag start in general. As such, I'm not embarrassed to say that yes, my reaction times sucked, generally around 1.1 seconds compared to Arrrrx-8's 550-600ms

I love Packwood's indoor Pits!

NS5 Grid (You can just see my 8, then Arrrrrx-8's is on the left):
