Check out the Grand-Am calendar and try to catch the SS team at a track near you... believe me, you'll never forget sound of that 20B!

Thanks for the feedback from the pit/event. Interestingly even when they (speedtv) weren't covering SS or the GT class you could easily hear when the SS cars went by.

What a terrific event!! For me this was a great success to have the two SS cars finish in the top ten. Gotta give credit to Banner Engineering for putting two new cars in the top 10 too. I'm not a pontiac fan by any stretch but they did a good job.

I'll be at Laguna Seca and Infineon later this season to cheer them on. I'm wondering how much more aggresively they'll be able to tune/map the cars in the shorter races??

like come on.. they pretty much just implied "Hey nothing else to see here unless your bored.." But then again hopefully the next race(s) they'll focus on the Gt class more.
Yeah, there was also a comment early in the race about how the race to follow at Daytona next month would "dwarf" this event. Way to show respect.

The 3rotor is much more disctinctinve. If this doesn't work, or I need to change anything, please let me know.
Reminds of when I drove into Laguna Seca last year and the DP/GT cars were on the track practicing. Instant goose bumps. The racing gods are smiling on us. We wanted more 3 rotor GT participation this season and we got it. I'm hoping other teams (like Spencer and Goldin bros) can run a few more events too.

I think they do run the same ECU but I got the impression that SS was running their set-up a little conservatively-limiting the RPM's.

Yeah same here, but they could run into fuel trouble if they run with more power... the porsches are both faster and consumes less fuel.

I don't think there is a requirement/rule for a specific ECU... but most teams run a MOTEC.

The 3 and 4 rotor engines have always been some of the coolest sounds you could ever hear at a race. It's nice that some new people got to hear a 3 rotor at fill tilt. Too bad I won't hear one again at the next races that I will get to see.

The Banner Engineering guys did great... we (SS) were pitted directly next door, and I can tell you these guys had big $$ behind them; about double the crew, engineers, computers (telemetry, weather, etc...) than SpeedSource. It's amazing what SS accomplished with their smaller operation versus the very well funded Porsche and GM teams.

thats something that characterizes the rotary comunity, we do more with less, just take in acount how many teams started the race and of those check out how many rx-8's compare that to how they finish

In other words Speedsource kicks ***!!!!!

That is something that I have always found prevalent in rotary racing, or mazda racing.

Of course there are many Mazda teams I will root for but the top two for me are SpeedSource and TriPoint.

I do. I've got a clip of the Goldin Bros car idling and then revving up. I'll upload and post.
