Well, no. You have to take it off.
You won't be able to reliably weld it on the car.
There will be parts of the break that will be out of reach and you don't want to weld on the car anyway for a multitude of reasons.

yeah, there's no space to weld it unless the crack just happens to be visible and has no weird angles.

If it makes you feel any better, my stuff came out nicely:

It comes out very nicely, but going back in with one person sucks.
Save your cash and learn something new.

using a car lift and power tools, it took about 3 hours to completely remove all turbo parts from the vehicle. But the guy who removed my manifold can swap out a transmission in 15 minutes. So that isn't saying much.

why not take out the manifold in the morning , get it welded around noon, and put it back in in the afternoon.

no offense c41250n, but what you're doing is illogical. The manifolds are difficult to get since they aren't sold on their own.

Secondly, if you buy one, even for cheap, it's still going to be $300-500 range.

You can rent a car for a week for $120 or so.

The math doesn't work in the favor of what you're trying to accomplish. Rent a car for a few days, get the manifold fixed, and reinstall. It will cost you less and no need to pay for shipping on a heavy *** iron manifold.

i totally understand, since i dont wanna lay on the ground all day long, i would like to go either rent or see if any of my fds car let me use the lift. cause i asked the guy who is gonna wield for me, he said he needs 2 days to wield it. that is the main thing that im concern of.
i called greddy, they are $300 new, but they are in back order.
one of the member up here emailed me saying he has on for sale already, but it is taking him forever to reply, so now im thinking maybe i should just get mine wield and see who can let me borrow the lift for a few days.
i need to get it fix before aug2. cause jeff is coming over that weekend to tune my car.
