PM Charles, he might be able to get them.

I don't think greddy sold them alone, so anyone who has it will be making their kit useless by selling it.

Yeah, you can.
But it should be done by a master welder with the right rods.

to be honest, i dont know what cause the crack. i went to Hong Kong for vacation for a month or so, and when i get back there is already a leak. but know if it is becasue my car was backfiring a lot before or because of my car is running too rich.
Jeff, i dont know if there is a muffler shop call Golden Muffler in FL, but they help me weild the bung on to my midpipe, i wonder if they can weild it for me!
i hope they could since im gonna have my car tuned by you on Aug.2

mine cracked too. It can be repaired. I'm having mine ceramic coated now too, so it doesn't happen again.

post pics, I'd like to compare where the crack is on your manifold. Mine's a hairline crack. Not a big deal besides the exhaust leak, but I hear that if you don't repair it and keep driving, it can make it difficult to repair down the road.

Clanton welding. It's in Tampa.

http://tampabay.citysearch.com/profi...ding_shop.html

They did a good job repairing it, but they didn't have the tools to smooth it down the rounded areas very well. I dropped it off at allamerica to get ceramic coated. They should be cleaning it up before coating it, I'll post pics next week wed/thurs when it's done. They did an excellent job with Police34's manifold coating.

there is no need to remove anything. The welding shop has trained nanobots that repair it. It's great.

Hmm, so these things are prone to cracking? Becuase the MM/BHR kit will use this manifold and if its prone to cracking that is a bad sign

I don't know how prone they are to cracking. There are more GReddy turbo kits out there than anything else by many fold. I don't see many threads complaining about cracks, so there might be a small batch with issues.

Yeah I was thinking on that. Why does that help to keep it intact and not crack?

sorry for my ignorance

just think it as like there is another coating to strength up the manifold and to trap the heat!

Trapping the heat makes the manifold weaker.

You guys are alone on this cracking bit.
I have a bunch of these things out there and none have cracked.
Mine has more than 30k miles on it with no failure and I beat the living sh*t out of it.
I've even drilled and then welded some holes in mine for various sensors with no cracks.
The most likely culprit is hits to the exhaust system going over bumps and loose downpipe support braces.

i have been thinking about coating my manifold and pipe too but if trapping the heat makes the manifold weaker ill hold off on it

the idea is to coat the part, inside and out, so the metal isn't subject to as much heat. Companies like Jet-hot started in the business by coating parts in jet engines that were seeing extreme temps.

Like I said, there's a ton of greddy manifolds out there, I haven't seen many complaints about cracks. So I don't think it's a big deal.
