I had reported the grinding issue with the transmission prior to the turbo going on the car. Also the turbo seal was going, and it was smoking, so things lined up, and the turbo was yanked, and the car went in for transmission work.

I installed the interceptor-x and AFE STS tonight. Took it out to make sure it ran and I'm starting to get used to the new clutch and flywheel. I think one or two more days and it'll be like second nature. With the STS the gears are just a flick of the wrist away, the same thing goes with the transmission now - an inch or so of travel and it's already fully engaged. They suit each other.
the AFE STS is badass... i cant wait to see that new turbo on youtube!!! your vids of your car have to be the most thorough out of anyones!

Mysql101, impressive evolution of your car between the shots...

I'm curious what made you want to pop the cash for the real MS cover? It's a great look (that I would gladly add to my own 8), but everywhere seems to want a grand + for it. Did you get a deal on it? Or perhaps just wanted to push for that uniqueness that cash was no object?

I should note that I'd never go for the replicas either because of fit issues.

Anyway, truely impressive job. Very, very nice.
