No updates. Tomorrow I'll drive by the dealer to see what's going on. If they took the tranny apart and found out what parts are needed to fix it, then I would assume they aren't getting the replacement parts in till Monday. So hopefully I get the car around Tues.
The new turbo goes in on the 19th. Call me if you want to drop by while we're doing the install. I'm going to have the work done at a friend's house (right across the street from WC Mazda).

got the car back today.
i feel like i'm learning how to drive stick again. The engagement point is very close to the ground. And the HD clutch grabs quickly, while the lightweight flywheel needs more finesse to keep in the proper rev range.
it seems to be tricky only from a dead stop, once i'm moving it's OK. I didn't stall or anything, so it's not too bad.
The car has a new transmission, it needs time to break in, so right now it's not as smooth as the old one was since it was broken in long ago...
even changing gears feels a little funny.
anyway, I have the act prolite, I think that's the lightest flywheel act makes for the 8. I didn't push the car too hard, but my immediate reaction to the upgrade is that there is little improvement in power. I just don't feel much of anything.
It could just be that I'm used to the turbo being able to push me in the seat with all that torque, that my car with no turbo right now + lightweight flywheel so underwhelms me that it feels slow no matter what is done to it.
And with that... in 2 days I will have a larger turbo on my car

There are so many boxes of stuff. Here's just some of what's waiting on the floor.
Most of the turbo kit is still installed on the car too!

sort of...
I had reported the grinding issue with the transmission prior to the turbo going on the car. Also the turbo seal was going, and it was smoking, so things lined up, and the turbo was yanked, and the car went in for transmission work.
I installed the interceptor-x and AFE STS tonight. Took it out to make sure it ran and I'm starting to get used to the new clutch and flywheel. I think one or two more days and it'll be like second nature. With the STS the gears are just a flick of the wrist away, the same thing goes with the transmission now - an inch or so of travel and it's already fully engaged. They suit each other.
