For ***** and giggles I took the hp readings of 24 rpm points along 5th gear for both runs and averaged the power. Stock the car averaged 182whp in 5th. i/e/re-flash = 191whp. You all can do math - it indicates an 'average gain' of about 9whp.

Manufacturers of performance parts RARELY show averages, because it's much easier to find the difference between the highest point of the 'after' and the lowest point of the 'before' and claim gains. Also, I can turn the 'smoothing' factor on the runs down to nothing. Doing this can add up to 3hp on my run. I can show at one point my car gaining a whopping 24 at ONE point in the gear. Check this out - THIS would sell an intake, no?

See there? 'Proof'. Nevermind those numbers happened between 141.1mph and 141.15mph. (I can't get rpm or tq figures because the machine was having trouble picking up the signal on my car.)

I think this may be ONE way Part-Makers "Lie". It's not lying, I suppose IF there is data, but it IS misleading.

Angry Missed out....

I was planning on showing up until we got almost a foot of snow here at my house above Spokane. Damn stuff.. If you do anything else in the area please post so maybe one day I'll get to show up. Would be nice to see what engine mods are favored person to person. And I need a baseline for my car.

Nemesis, I wouldn't trust that AFR since the dyno run looks like it was done in the rain or shortly after it rained. The moisture in the air will jack with your AFR readings.

Hey dmp, awesome photoshop of the s/c mustang engine. It does look like the hood would have problems closing though.
You need to post that up in the RX8 V8 thread.

Thanks - I did wonder about that. I found another shop that just installed a brand new dyno closer to home. I'm going to get my setup corrected.

After studying my dyno results, it is clear that the CZ leaning out the AFR curve has produced a broader power under the curve result. Dyno numbers 7 and 8 are with the CZ installed. View them here: http://www.nemesis8.com/dyno/
