Any dark cherry Shinka owners in the McMinnville/Sheridan Oregon area?

 

Just got her back from getting the front painted. Will take some better pics during the day. Also just got the Eyelids painted and put on.

 

That paint job looks very nice Teoz. well done!

 

Thanks. Just picked her up tonight, so still need to buff it a little. So glad to see all the rock chips gone. Also painted the grey plastic on the rear bumper and exhaust shrouds. Looks real sweet. Sun was setting so i'll get some pics tomorrow of it.

 

what temperature are your HIDs?

I've been thinking of just getting the front resprayed due to rock chips (no one else notices, but I do). How much did it run you Teoz if you don't mind my asking?

I see you retained the Mazda badge. I might have removed if I respray which of course will be more to fill the holes and prep.

I know what you mean. I bought my car last year and the one thing that always drove me crazy was the million chips. I do towing on the weekends for a body shop, truck in background so I only paid for time. PM me if you want the info for the eyelids, great guy and price.

Thank you, yes the paint matched up perfect. Had both bumpers done about 2 monthes ago. Now just had front hood and front fenders done. Chip free for a few days atleast I hope.

Here are a couple I took today in the sunlight. Can see how I had them do the back bumper. Came out nice.

 

I had a place put on a great clear bra to help with the rock chips and I couldn't be happier. It conforms with the curves of the fenders and hood perfectly and so far I haven't seen a single new chip appear. The only time I even notice that it exists is when the morning dew makes diffrent size drops on the bra vs the paint.

 

Did you take off the bumper to have it painted Teoz or leave it on? I guess I'll give my bodyshop guy the option.

 

I took it off, being I just had them painted 2 monthes ago. I took the lights off also. Tried to do as much as I could to make it easier for them.

 

^ Yeah, I was thinking I'd take off the sidemarkers and vents as well. The easier you make things for people generally the better the end result.

huey, if you get the front repainted definitely get it debadged. it looks so much better.

9krpm has my old debadged front bumper. it looks amazing. sometimes i regret selling it...

 

^ Yeah, the front badge just gets in my way when I speed shine or wax.

 

I just noticed that the 2010 CX-7/9 comes in black cherry mica. Oh the humanity!!!

 

Ugh. One of my favorite things about this car is when people come up to me randomly in parking lots and gush about the color because they've never seen anything exactly like it. I really hope they don't carry the BCM color over to the new RX7/9/whatever it ends up being.

Personally, I like the badges on the BCM, although I'm paint matching all the chrome on the entire exterior to match my Advan RS's that I'm getting so it's more muted. =) The chrome isn't that bad though. I think debadging is more dependant on color really.

That painted lower bumper looks pretty slick btw.
