I see you've been collecting these pics for a while, just waiting for the right moment to spring them on the unsuspecting forum members.

Dude, I've been posting jet/rocket pics on this forum since Summer'03. (Such as the avatar.) I just figured I would try a "theme thread" as seems to have become fashionable.

The drive-thru at the Roswell McD's is definitely saucier!

...I should also have mentioned that it was the resurgence of that 'Post Pics of Your 8 Doing Something Illegal' thread that got me reminiscing about some of these older jet pictures, since I've pushed the limit on more than one occasion. Some from my collection will never see the light of day!

Here's one where a security guard gave me a stern talking to about leaving the premises...

That's why I didn't get any closer to SpaceShipOne, although we did get a good look at the Roton!

...and here's what it looks like when you take the Flying Saucer motif too far!

So who's got the first picture of their car next to a submerged submarine?

Those photos are from Florida to California and a few places in between. When I'm putting on the miles thousands at a time going cross-country, I tend to take on a more practical definition of aesthetics...

(As for the dirt when I'm just a few blocks away from home, I attribute that to my inherent laziness.)

My first RX-8 took a hit with FIVE-FIGURE flood damage (I'm sure you know all too well how Houston gets). So that was probably a good opportunity for the *DIVE* *DIVE* *DIVE* posing-with-a-submarine photo. Ha!

But no foolin, somewhere I've got old photos of one of my 2nd Gen 7s next to a sub. There used to be these way cool restaurants called "The Dive". There was one in L.A. and one in Vegas. It was short lived, but a great experience with the nose of the sub sticking out toward the street and the entrance was a big hatchway with the sub/underwater theme throughout the place.

I was totally bummed to find out that after only a few years, the chain ... wait for it ... went under.

stop h8in

HIX 8 dont listen to all these h8trs this is quite original and these pictures are really cool. maybe its because i am an aerospace/aeronautical buff and i am an F-15 mechanic soon to be retraining into contorlling satelites and currently going to school for aeronautical engineering with minor in aerospace lol. All the pictures u have taken have atleast 2 pieces of equipment that are innovative and great pieces of machinery.

Sounds like you've got a lot of work ahead of you, as well as behind you.

Your words of appreciation come as a refreshing change of pace for how this thread has developed so far. I had actually considered taking down all my pics here since the vocal majority seemed to be offended for some strange reason!

I need to start posting some from the Air Force side of my collection. But I have yet to get any of my 8 with an F-15, or a satellite for that matter! Last October I was at an excellent Eagle static display, but getting my 8 close enough for a photo would have gotten me busted for sure.

Before I tap the Air Force side, I'm going to deviate from the stated theme for this one Army tank photo:

That one is more of a "study in contrasts", since it doesn't have quite the same sense of grace for me as with those jets.

No one is hatin on him. It's mostly just poking a little fun. I for one love the aerospace shots.

Ooh, that would be sweet. Live planes are much more interesting subjects than the taxidermied variety. And shooting them when awake is even better than asleep (just sitting on the ramp not running).
