2010 RX-8 Spy Shots
user clarencel posted this pic in the multimedia forum. As you can see it's a high res of the same pic on the magazine cover. Looks so close to the mule and too good to be photoshopped... could it be a real leaked press photo? We've heard that there will be an RS (or R-Spec) version that will have Recaro seats, but the seat pictured is an old press photo of the Recaros from the RX-7 RZ from 2001
That front bumber doesn't look real to me, got some weird reflections etc.. And please, please let's hope there isn't that horrible ugly black plastic license plate holder bar thing sticking out of the front grill area with screw holes. We don't need no stinkin front license plates!
I commented on that earlier. They may add it just like the MS3 has one.
Looks like G35 tail-lights. If they're LED I'd love to have them.
I'm skeptical about the fogs, they just look too 80's style.
And the car looks like it's saying "ahhhhhhhhh"..
///if this turns out to be accurate, I'll be a bit disappointed...

). But the car just doesn't look like a photo but rather a nice drawing, so while it could be a drawing of a real car and so accurate, it's still not looking real.
I think I agree with Paul here, this IMO is pretty close to what the changes will be and I think I can live with it, do not like the fogs.
The car will look cleaner in the flesh and I think will look good when you stand back from it rather than in a pic.
Lets face it the RX-8 looks far better in the flesh than in any pic.

Also, keep in mind that if it is a leaked official Mazda press photo, it probably is touched up quite a bit in Photoshop as most press photos are (remove reflection of the photographer, lights, etc)... that doesn't mean that it's not the real deal.

The only thing I sort of like about these pics are the new taillights, due to the LEDs. Other than that, all the other changes are pretty ugly.
They also got almost completely rid of the vents behind the front wheels... pity.

perhaps Mazda led the 'vent fad' in '03 and are now done with it...I mean if it's a fad you certainly don't want to be one of the last to use it
Check this out...interesting...

I like the vents on our cars. Although not functional, our fenders are well-shaped to accommodate them. Being a descendant of a performance car that is known to overheat in traffic (the RX-7), we may be able to get away with the vents
So long as it's kept matte black (carbon or a dark fiberglass look are ok too I guess), it fits the car well. While Mazda may be venturing away from it, Mitsubishi's new Evo has something that looks like they stole it right off our 8s.
