Ive just notice that those fog lights are a little too high or close to the headlights.
They should be down 3-4 inches.

The chrome molding is very new Mazda 6 which runs along the entire front of the car.

Btw, I called some dealers asking about when they think the new
facelifted 8 would come in, and as I assumed...not much.
Some said end of the year, another said this spring.
The one salesman said the '08's aren't out yet....lol. I
test drove one yesterday.

I guess nobody knows at this point. I thought I read
Feb., but I plan on purchasing then. I am new to 8's all
together, and have only recently took serious interest, esp.
after reading mkaresh's review on epinions. So is it everyone's
guess we don't know yet when they will be in???

I only got to test drive an 08 auto yesterday and was disappointed
at first, but thought we'll at least I'll get an idea of the handling.
I've driven a lot of cars, and have a mk1 mr2 now p/t, but all the
hype about this car was justified. When I took some very fast
90 degree turns I felt as If I stood motionless but the foreground
in front of me turned instead, it was that composed and balanced.
Pretty amazing car.

I was expecting the auto. to feel boring, but it was very peppy as
opposed to really fast and enjoyed the paddles, although they felt
pointless at times b/c the rpm band is so huge. It also looks very
pretty in red I must say.

good idea you had duga...too bad they didn't bite and give you a straight answer. All the dealership prinicpals must have seen the update already. maybe they are really not sure when it will arrive either...haha

hmmm...no offense, but I don't like that version of the 8 SpooledUP7. I find the front too weird...something you would see coming out of Need For Speed, and I think those are so ugly. Well, those are just my own thoughts, so I am sure one of two others will find your design good.

ok i am going to say it. after thinking about it, all the pictures that have been surfacing around, i just dont liek the face lift. i think the stock 8 with OEM lip looks much better. but we will see what changes if any at Detroit.

I heard that the 2009 rx8 is just a refinement to hold us over until the 2012 redesign comes out with the new motor.

What's more curious is the Mazda press release, and I quote, touting "world premieres of the ... heavily revised new Mazda RX-8 sports car"

Does "heavily revised new" = 'this face-lift' in Mazda's marketing mind or will there be an Easter Egg inside come Sunday?
