2009 AT RX-8 pics today
just wondering i was reading a mazda magazine at the dealer and it said that the kabura was the mazda 3 that that gonna come out in 2012 or something like that but why is it called kabura and not the 3
Best cleanest shots yet, good work!
Now if I could just get over my "what were they thinking" gut reaction to looking at it
every time I see new pics I'm hoping to suddenly say "Wow it looks so beautiful", but it just doesn't happen

The shape is not disturbing, it actually looks decent. You just need a kit to remove the ugly as hell plastic and replace it with a better looking design.
I hope the 3rd party companies have their grille replacements kits and some kits for the plastic in front of the oil coolers ready.
For the sake of new RX-8 owners, I hope they go with the Mazdaspeed front, looks better.
the more i look at this thing, the more bird-like it appears.
the plastic grill thing reminds me of a beak and the oil cooler inlets remind me of spread wings. as i'm typing this, the word "chickenhawk" is repeating in my head.
even the M in the Mazda logo reminds me of how children draw birds with crayons.

*Goes to crab his coloring book....*
1) Making people who track their cars happy
2) Preparing for a more powerful engine by boosting reliability
3) Having too many problems with blown seals from overheated engines
In any case, once people get used to the new styling (similar plastic slots are also on the VW R32), reliability changes can't be bad. They just aren't as sexy as another 80 hp.
Not a fan of the tail lights, but I like that they did away with most of the black plastic around the exhaust. Then what? They re-shaped it and glued it to the nose?
I like the changes they made to the front but that black stuff really cheapens the look, especially on the blue color. I think it looks ok on the gray, and I like the overall shape.
So are those clear corner lights? I like the location. Wonder if they will officially roll out with ugly orange ones instead.
Steering wheel is just plain hideous.
