2009 AT RX-8 pics today

It's still a great looking car; a hell of a lot sexier than the 350Z. But our current look that we have just feels more...timeless. It's more "classic" if you will. I have no qualms with the new one, though. I would definitely buy one.

So you sat in a 2009 auto 8? What am I missing? What, were your pictures of the new auto 8 wheels? Are people really excited about the auto version? I don't get it.
I don't like the new 8. After seeing it, I felt safe buying a mazdaspeed kit for my 2006 VR. I not only got to sit in my manual 8 today, I got to drive it.... Jealous?

A - press photo - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - B - an actual photo (copied from Fairbanks Mazda thread)
are you sure there's nothing else to see?! the bumpers of the press release and an actual 8 do not match! not to mention the bumper on the "actual" 8 is especially ugly.
since there are no other photos to compare with, i was hoping (just like everyone else browsing this thread) to catch a glimpse of what the 2009 "actually" looks like..
instead i find nothing and generalizations like yours are just not acceptable and makes it worse

umm, that is the exact same bumper, minus fog lights. the fog light hole, just like every other car out on the market is covered by a piece of plastic. remove the plastic and insert fog light.
the circled part is the same as it is on the blue 8, just differant angles.
come on guys, use your heads.

Lesper4 was on the freeway her in SoCal and was actually able ot take pics of the 09 RX8 driving on the freeway. From the pics he posted, it looks like the the Titanium grey one we saw in the Auto show pics, the one with the ugly red interior.
Why was it driving around? Maybe it was retired from auto shows and they now have a different one they are taking to auto shows...I don't know. But given we are so close to Mazda HQ, I'm sure the 09 is now in the hands of someone from Mazda HQ and he is driving it around everyday.
I'm sure we are the only ones in the world that would even realize that an 09 is driving next to us..when they aren't even supposed to be available.
I appreciate the pics of the "Base" model up above. This was one of the questions I had when I saw the first pics of the press-released 09. I knew, just as was with the press release on the 04s, that these were pics of a fully loaded one...one with all the dealer add ons. The base model 09 looks just as I imagined.

They (from what I've seen) have the same six speed as in previous 2006 and 2007.
Anybody have a shot of the 2006 to 2008 6 speed AT transmission oil pan? That would help.

there would have been less trouble if you just posted the pics of the underside of the car, so it has a diff oil pan....than could be due to the new oiling system in the 2009s doesnt necessarily mean its a big deal....your making it a bigger issue that it should be......the unknown is often worse than the truth...

the fact that the blue one is an R3 model and the gray one is a standard model gives it away that they are not exactly the same.
the reason i posted those is that somebody commented earlier that there is nothing else to see since the photos released by Mazda already
resembles the 2009 model photos that were removed. But the fact is, only the R3 and Mazdaspeed concepts were revealed to the public.
There is no other photo (of the FRONT bumper) available as of now of the "regular" rx-8 except that spy shot taken from Fairbanks Mazda thread.
hence the commotion
