if you think your brakes squeal with stock pads, try mazdaspeed, endless, etc. pads.

It is the iron rotors that is the primary reason the brakes squeal. if you want no squeal, run stainless rotors with organic pads.

the brakes will suck but then again, they will not squeal either.

{Flame on}
if you are such a dork as to complain about squealing brakes, go buy a beige camry. I hear the brakes do not squeal on those cars
{Flame off}

Seems to me a gauge quality of any car is the lack of squeal and a 30k shouldn't squeal.

Kind of embarrassing pulling up to a drive though, parking lot, ... to drown out everyone with loud metallic squeaking.

I really dont think sqeeking breaks should make or break a car! Ive had enless trans problems and oil leaks with my RX8 but my warranty fixed it! And Im man enough to admit that I run my car pretty damn hard. But whatever, hey everyone, one RX8 has sqeeky breaks, DONT BUY THIS CAR!!! because no other car has sqeeky breaks! Ok Im done, I had a bad day.....

I used to have a girlfriend who cost me about 30k before all was said and done, and man oh man, did she squeal...

But yes, if purchased new for ~30k, the car should not squeal anywhere. Buy used, however, with a few 10k miles, and caveat emptor.

Wow you regret your car becasue the brakes squeal. Here is a tip, drive up to 30mph and slam on the brakes. Brake squeal gone, at least for me.

I have a similar problem. My rear tires keep making noise when I step on the gas and I already need the tires rotated with less than 5k miles on the car. This car sucks, I never should have bought it.

LOL I do a micro drift off a ramp/stoplight most every morning. Tires chirping and wearing as well.

All disc brakes squeal (ever since asbestos was banned) and the stock '8 setup is better than most. As suggested, some hard braking to "bed" the material can help.

I swapped to Racing Brake cross drilled/slotted rotors with the same pads and I have not had a single squeal for over 9 months.

Ah yes, the newbies bumping of old threads. I was wondering why.
