Soon to be mazda RX-8 owner....THUG VERSION :P

okay so i've looked at cars for so very long, and test drove wrx's speed3's and the rx8 kills them all.

im not the richest guy in the world, but i recently lent my dad money, and by my birthday he will pay me back with interest :P i've talked to him about it, and he's all down for a down payment on an rx8

to the point:
08 black rx-8, gt, manual (of course), with red and black interior. (have the order form in hand, just waiting for my birthday jan.2)

what do you guys thing of ^ that rx-8 with a matching mazdaspeed front bumper(with fogs), 5% tint all way around (cept windshield). sand blasted and powder coated gold stock rims, clear corners. rp supercat.
i was going for a very subtle, but mean look and sound.

i need opinions!!!!! :P

oh and i just have to say, i've only very recently registered, but ive been gazing at rx8club forums for a while, and the help people recieve is just amazing. and i've never seen more of a club from any car (compared to wrx and speed3 forums) this place is practically a cult!....(or is it?!?! what's my initiation?)

oh and is a clear bra worth investing in?

everyone has their own theme for their car. I believe if you do yours right then it will come out looking good. As for the clear bra, it may be a worthy investment if you dont like rock chips. Welcome to the addiction and happy modding.

Um, racing? What kind of racing are you planning to get into when you get out of driving school?

oh and is there like a list i of things i shouldn't get or things i shouldn't do?

i mean i've looked up basically everything on here. premix, turbo, breaking in, maintainence.

im still looking into it, on how i can get on a track and all of that, but for now enroll in a school, once i do all my paperwork, they will help me out with the rest (getting onto a track)

for now, i just want to do showroom stock racing or something of the sort. when i get a few spare tires, i'll get more into drifting, see if i have a talent for it.

The initiation?
Glad you asked.

Who wants to inform him of our initiation process?

I like Kane's proposal -

Instead of trying to sort out 100k other posts, START HERE. You wont find better info in a more consolidated place to answer all your questions about do's, don'ts, shoulds, shouldn'ts, etc.

Gold rims... well, if that's what you're up for, sure i guess so. The only time i ever saw gold rims look good on a car was a custom painted late model trans am... whatever the final year it was they came out. Anywho, the car was a deep brick red color and had burnished gold rims. looked good but as i said, that had to be the only time i ever saw gold rims and thought it looked good. But hey, maybe you'll pull it off and it'll look great! Pics or BAN!!!

Taj knows a lot about painting cars gold and how awesome it looks.

My personal opinion is that you should save your money for gas. When the dollar becomes worth less then the paper it's printed on in a few months, you'll need several million dollars to fill your tank.

lol thug was a joke.
the rx8, imo looks like a baby fish, its actually kind of cute.
i wanted it to look a bit mean, and thank you for telling me to get the ebay 1, way to save me 300 dollars :P

as for random racing on the streets, im not in some street racing gang, or ever plan to be in one. i do every now and then like to put a loud civic in its place.

Please don't race on the street. You don't need to prove that your car is better than a riced-out Civic.

I've known two people who have been killed by street racing. One was a driver and the other an innocent pedestrian (two separate incidents). And I'm not talking about "racing gangs," I'm talking about teenagers trying to show how fast their cars are.

from those stories, these seem like actually street races, not just straight line runs to 60 for fun.
but thank you very much for not being rude about this, i definitely will hold back on illegal street racing.

No tint, no gold, no clear corners. Everything else is ok.

It's impossible to have "mean look" for rx8, and none of those 3 things does any "mean look" anyway.

Have you looked at the Dodge Charger in the movie Street Kings? Car like that, has a "mean look" already builded in. And would look good with tint, gold, and "clear corner".
