Went for a drive the long way to the freight depot. Picked up my new FD3S starter motor as the 2004 RX8 one on mine is getting swapped out. Shall start much nicer with that and the cold-crank battery and larger terminals I have :D

Got a new set of Axxis Ultimate brake pads on the front, and had rotors machined. Impressions so far: a bit noisier than OEM, but seems like they bite harder under medium pedal pressure.

Washed, Clay Bar, Polished, and Waxed twice...
Also UPS dropped this off today...

Asked the Mazda South Dealership in Austin to install it for me. I have an appointment Tuesday morning for that reason...hopefully it all goes smoothly.

I bent it. Owned it new since 2004 and I frigging put a dent in it! To add insult to injury, I dented our other car in the process. Heh!

So here's where I'm going with this topic. We were without our primary car, a new Mercedes, for 5 days. So, we used my RX-8 as our daily driver. You know what? The 8 is noisy and harsh. Don't get me wrong; I love it's handling and performance, but it sucks as a DD.

So now our MB is repaired and my 8 will go in to get it's bender fixed. And now I'm thinking about a new Mustang GT.

On a late autumn day decided that lunch with my wife and the 8 was a good idea so I drove 45 mins north to a little seaside spot called Mangonui. A wet drive but a quick one, no whining from the passenger seat as she's pretty used to me. Great cafe, great company, great drive!

Bugger, another upside down photo...sorry!

no. new ones are cheap, and you'd have to make sure the used ones worked after you put em in

Did my first oil change since purchasing the car, getting ready to do the plugs, coils, and wires. A lot of good information on this site.

... other than denting it, I've been painting the brake calipers (red) and wheel hubs black. Three down and one to go. It looks nice!

Is the pump working?.

Went to fuel up and measured my 6 oz of 2 cycle oil and down the spout with it. I put the pump in the car and the pump computer wet dead? What bad luck. I had to put in some 85 octane drive a few miles to another station where I got it filled with 95 octane.
