Well the first two are on YOU and not the cops. If your state requires you to have a front plate, put up the front plate. Seat belt and it's the law? On you pal.

Now as to the cop ripping apart your car? I suggest you invest in a phone that does video capture. I would never consent to a voluntary search to begin with. If he "forces" his way into a search (pretty much the only it happens), then I'm going to damn well make sure his face is on the local news for abuse of power.

ya man, maryland isnt too strict about it, but virginia will bust your ***** whenever they can, i got one last week same as you. rookie lady cop actually had the ***** to make a uturn and catch up with me to give me a licenseplate ticket..

i would have tried to charm here but she was a tipical rednek... blahh

solution, keep ticket in glove box, and license plate in the front window, get pulled over again say you already got a ticket and you ordered the licenseplate mount but it hasnt arrived yet..

Consider the economy, they'll ticket you whenever they can now. Hell, they even start laying off cops these days.

Cut the plate down to just the numbers?

My front plate has been in my trunk since I bought the car.

This reminds me of a sports car my dad had back in the '50's. He got stopped for no front plate (just a warning, I think). He hated the looks of the front plate and also claimed that it restricted airflow to the radiator, so he got out a pair of metal sheers and trimmed the plate down so only the essential numbers were left - it was pretty small. He then mounted it in the grill area and was never bothered by a police officer again about the front plate. I wonder if I could get away with that solution on my 8?

I think a trimmed plate would cause them to pull you over FASTER than if you had none.

I got a speeding ticket 2 weeks ago and i had taken my front tags off and when the officer walked to the front of the car he also tagged me for no front plate which in TX is an extra 100$, however all i had to do was show up to the court house with one and it would be dropped and all i had to pay was the speeding and a 10$ fee for the no plate. The last time this happened on my other car when i got to the court house they asked if i put it on and said yes and they said ok and signed me off (even though it was not on). Didnt work this time and i had to come back with it zip-tied on and after the officer walked out and looked at it i asked if we are all good and he replied yes so i pulled out the scissors from my glove box and cut off the ties and the officer freaked out and said " **** son at least wait until you come back outside and i dont see you doing it" i laughed and left it hanging by one tie and walked inside with him to finish up and before i left i cut off the rest and put it in the car.
