Using the search to find more "use the search" posts and no answer...

It's the number 1 thing that pisses me off. Just give a straight answer and then kick OP's butt for not using the search, because that actually helps the next person who actually searches. If you don't use the search, you're a noob, and if a user only posts to say that OP has to use the search, he's twice the noob.

These stickied posts are also just a big mess. Why not just make a wiki-page for RX8Club where everything is sorted nicely? Never have I had a problem with finding something on Wikipedia which can be edited by any community member instead of just one know-it-all who has left the forum months ago.

OP: Call the dealer, get a compression test done. The tests are inexpensive and will give you a straight answer. Don't look for any more symptoms in the hopes it's one that you don't have and therefore convincing yourself that your engine doesn't suffer compression loss.

Tom, your post was so wasteful that it barely deserves a response.
The only reason I'm responding is to point out the fact that you replied to a person who made the OP 5 years ago. And many times did people respond with signs of low compression to go get a compression test. That is all across the forum, and not held hostage in this thread. But thanks for thinking you're a light bulb in a dark room...

Search works if you possess even a minute amount of patience. But people like you are so used to instant gratification that you can't function without it. I call it "spoiled".
The stickies have plenty of info that is valuable. If you want to create a wiki page, feel free to do so. We won't miss you here.

There is one issue that popped up recently with a friend's RX8...and it started exactly like your problem... with hot starts. After the hot starting, the car started vibrating, was unable to hold idle and was making pinging noises at high revs. Plugs and coils were fine, so this all sounded like the engine failing. However upon the suggestion of another friend, he changed the fuel and it all went away. The car started running like new again... compression was also tested later and it was fine. He also started premixing after this and says his car is running better than before.

If you've changed your fuel recently, you might want to look into changing back.
sorry for bringing old threads up but i might have this issue was he having trouble starting hot or cold ? did he die at stop lights? how did you go about flushing the fuel system? my car just doesnt seem to hold idle i change the battery terminals i cleaned the ess i cleaned the maf next on my list which will be done once the parts come in the mail would be the starter, spark plugs, coils and wires i just cant seem to find my problem anywhere hoping its not the ssv anyone care to help?

You will have more luck if you are very descriptive of what is happening...and start your own thread...and stick to it when you are getting help

Chasing you all over the forum and finding different descriptions about what is happening is a real PIA

Hello,

No distinction will be made when it comes to a flame war. All sides will pay the price.

So it should stop now.

Consider yourself warned
