Low compression but car runs great.
My numbers are 5.9, 6.9, 6.0 on the front, and 6.45, 6.45, 6.1. The engine cranked at 228 and 229 rpm and was corrected to 250. According to some stuff I've read, my car should be running like crap, but it runs great. Has never flooded in the 10,000 miles I've put on it, always starts, idles fine, accelerates strongly and smoothly, doesn't smoke, passed smog a month ago, etc.
What do you guys think of this? Is it a non-issue or should I expect my engine to turn to crap within the next few thousand miles? The indy place that tested it, Rick's Performance in Pleasanton, CA, has a very good rep, but is it possible they got the numbers wrong? They used the Mazda tester.

Greasy, You do realize that our engines are a consumable commodity, I.e. by design w/respect to its seals... it's effectiveness declines "with use", right? Compression is simply a measure of this inevitable process.
That said...compression is what compression does. Does it reliably start...cold AND hot? Idle normally? Rev and accelerate properly? If so, then by indication of your use, daily driver; your compression supports what it should.
I'd recommend you familiarize yourself w/ symptoms of low compression "effecting operation". When you begin to experience these..., you will have a decision to make.
