can't vote for anything else but "highly satisfied"
for a meer more than 30 thousand bucks what else would you get ? an RX-8 is not on the same planet as the rest. It's not more or less just ... you've driven one? then you know what I mean !?

I've had my RX8 for 9 days now and I absolutely love it. I get a lot of looks (and I never did before) so it has to be the car. It is fun to drive and my kids love the back seat. What more can a family man want? Maybe a 911 but not in this price range.
As for mileage concerns, it's a high revving sports car. 'Nuff said!

All,
I wanted to say thanks for this great forum!
I used it shamelessly to buy my RX-8 today.
http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/vlSe...FE173040131808
I was able to get a good deal on this one.
I got it as shown, plus rear spoiler and 6-CD changer for $31,411. The salesman thanked me for knowing all of the numbers and we had a good laugh when I pulled out my laptop and cooked his books. Basically, they made $1200 off of me and I saved $3,600 off of their sticker.
I am going to post my spreadsheet below I used for pricing.
Taking in for detailing and code flash Monday!
Im looking forward to getting back into SCCA and I might head out to Tail of the Dragon for a proper break-in!

Love my 8. Haven't had a sports car for about 15 years. Last one was an RX-7. Just a fun car to drive. I will have to say, though, that I miss my truck just a bit.

I love my baby! Every since I set in a prototype in Irvine I have been in love! My husband bought me one for my 45 birthday. It doesnt hurt that my husband won the Mazda Tech competition in 2001.

3 week owner, very satisfied !
Maybe I only have my RX-8 for the past three weeks, but I have to say this car is just great ! Yes I find the car is bit of a "gas eater" but then again, this is a sport car, and in this category it is not that bad.
Out of curiosity and depending if you are american or canadian, how many miles or kilometers can your guys make on a single tank (generaly)....
Also, am I the only one that thinks the tires are not great but much better than average, if we compare them to other basic tires found on other mazda's or any other brand for that matter. If I compare them to the tires I got on my VW Golf VR6 1997 and 2000 (had both model), those tires really sucked big time.
Finally, one of the points that just blows my mind is the type of control I have in tight corners, it seems I can just accelerate and the car what's even more...

I must admit, a pickup truck does have utilitarian pluses, but that's where friends & family come into the picture. :p
deijmaster (how is that pronounced anyway?) expect 250 miles per, give or take, depending mainly on % city/hwy.

Love my RX-8!
I've had my RX-8 for 3 weeks now and love it! I bought a blue AT with GT package. At 41, I don't need a street racer, so the 197 HP are plenty (especially compared to the Saturn SL1 that my RX-8 has replaced!). I love the unique look and the handling. Sure, the MPG and rear visibility when trying to back up aren't its strong suits, but not enough to make me regret buying this car. I had been planning on waiting for the 2005 Mustang, but caught sight of an RX-8 and changed my mind. I'm sure I would have been happy with the new Mustang, but no buyer's remorse yet!

Loving the RX-8 - Almost Totally
I love my 8. Have had it for 2 weeks. Perfect all 'round EXCEPT this burning oil smell that gets sucked into the cabin when I'm stopped for more than 4 seconds and air is being drawn in from outside (no prob when on recirc). Have seen posts claiming this is normal and it goes away by 2k miles, sure hope it does.
Otherwise, the 8 roxx!!

Yippy
Highly Satisfied
Let me tell you a little story,
Since I was ten I began to love the rotary engine, I was somewhat of a nerd and the thing fascinated me. Whenever I saw a rx-7 I would shout it out, or when I saw a Cosmo I would go ecstatic. Well any way I soon grew to be 14 with a great interest in cars, I also had the most incredible opportunity to drive my uncle’s rx-7. I couldn’t believe it but I had learned the manual and I was an acceptable driver. Once I heard of the rx-8 I began intently interested, looking at the concept car, then a production model. But then I saw my first, it was love at first sight, no pictures can do the 8 justice, I had to have one. After slaving away 16-18 hour days all summer I managed to get enough money to make the down payment, and make the lease payments on the car for the next year and a half. I am now 16 years old, and couldn’t be happier. Before you go and say that I am to young, know that I have done my homework on this and many other cars. But no other car can even come close to the 8 for me, it elegance, uniqueness, and sheer sexiness was just to much for me. The positive aspects on this car way outweigh the negative. I am one of the happiest campers in the camp.
As for little things:
-there is a temp gauge for geeks like me, I had to press a button to show, just found it out a while ago
-the interior lights are great
-trunk lid gets out of the way
-I love this car!!
Little hint:
When you washing it, put plastic bag over the side rearview mirrors.
If you don’t water get trapped up in there, causing it to drip out over time and cause unsightly marks
Thanks,
Synergy
