Use Mobil 1. Nearly everyone I know uses it in my area and it works great. Also don't have to do an oil change as much. With synthetic oil around 10,000 miles. I saw a commercial for a high performance version of Mobil 1 on Car and Driver not that long ago.

My dealer does my changes every 4000 miles (free, if we pay for other periodic service). He uses the Mazda rotary oil. Can't go wrong with that deal.

~60% with Castrol GTX -- Predictable results. Mazda NA uses Castrol... the majority of owners will do what the Mfg'er suggests (I am one of them) given how MNAO has responded to Warranty issues. I want to use Synthetic, understand the arguments that have been made ad nauseam on this forum, and have chosen so far to stay with the Dino oil used by MNAO.

Well, my baby is still brand new (1800 miles) and since I broke in the engine just a tad harder than recommended by some on this board (hit 6K once or twice at about 500 miles), I decided to do the first oil change at 1500 miles. I had the dealer do it, since I had a coupon to get it done for free. They used "Mazda Oil" 5W-20 so I bought two quarts extra which they only charged me at US$ 3.43 per quart. I keep one in the car for topping off. It just seemed like as long as I am having the dealer change my oil, I might as well use the same stuff as they do.

The oil is injected into the chambers to lubricate seals and it must be burnt fully otherwise oil sludge can develop and cause the seals to jam, resulting in no compression and an engine rebuild. The Mazda oil is a special formulation made by Castrol and has been tested by Mazda and shown to cause no long term damage to the motor. The same cannot be said for any of the other oils on the market. Make up your own mind as to which is safer to use in your motor. THe other oils may be OK, but they have not been tested on rotary engines.

I don't know why you put Havoline up there. Not too many people know about it.
It's an Eastern oil brand anyhow.
It's hard to find it out here in Calf. So to stay consistant along with all my other vehicles Castrol. Been using Castrol for over 25 yrs. now.

I've just sat here and read 13 pages of posts on oil. To the best of my knowledge there has not yet been a poll on what oil brand people are using. I think the main reason people continually ask what types of oil people use is for reassurance that they are using the same thing everyone else uses, or uncomfortable with trying something out side of the norm.
So here it is. This is NOT a post asking people for advice on what oil to use because that has been covered. This is more of a study to see what percentages of people are using a particular brand. Nothing more, nothing less.
