NY International Auto Show
Does anyone know if the RX-8 will make an appearance at the New York International Auto Show? I plan on attending, and currently I am debating on whether to get an Rx-8 or a 350Z. I would definately like to see the Rx-8 in person before I make a decision, and I want to see how comfortable the backseats are in person as well.

New York Auto Show starts April 18th
http://www.autoshowny.com/
I think April 17th is a preview day not for the public, starts 18th for the rest of us. Mazda rep at Baltimore show told me an RX-8 would definitely be at New York. Of course, he told another show goer that the new power under the hood of the RX-8 was not a 13B, it is the Renesis...

Road Trip!?
I'd be up for it! I've never driven to NYC, but I work with someone who has family back there. It is apparently about a 7 hour drive? That's from Frederick. I would want a guarantee that I'd get to sit in one. I think even if they have it closed to the reckless often inconsiderate and even abusive public that they'd at least, at the end of the day, let those of us with orders have that opportunity. At any rate, just an FYI - it is Easter weekend in case that changes any plans for those contemplating a road trip. I'd want to leave early Saturday morning I think. Obviously an all day event without an overnight stay. Adding a stay and leaving Friday afternoon may work too.

I have seen the nightmare that is called parking around the Javits Center during the car show I would be more inclined to take Amtrak to NYC. It's 4 hours or less from DC depending which train you take. Bring a laptop with DVD and watch movies while enjoying a beverage of your choice from the Cafe Car
Take the train to Penn Station NY. Either walk or take a cab. It's only about 4 blocks or so west of the station on 34th street.

NY show road trip
I'd like to propose a group leader to organize a possible road trip from the DC area to the NYC show. I can do it - if any interested would private message me or add a post here that w/ an email address I'll accumulate a list to be on it. Having taken Amtrak to NYC from Philly once and taking forever to get back, I'd prefer to take a van or maybe caravan if we have enough to some point from which we could take a train into the downtown area. Obviously those wanting to make the trip can get together to decide the final mode of transport from here to there and back.
As for the 13B part - I tried to find mention of it in literature and Mazda's website to no avail. The twinturbo was the 13B-REW apparently. The Renesis obviously isn't a 12A, it's not a 20C; I think it has to be a 13B something- 13B-REN would be a logical designation - but it's almost like Mazda is wanting to get away fron that naming nomenclature with Renesis. I'll continue to think of it as a 13B for conversation sake.
