New here...problems with tire loyalty program

I am brand new here. Seems like a cool site. I am enrolled in the tire loyalty program. The dealer is telling me i didnt do my 30000 mile service ( I have 35000 miles currently). The 30000 mile service calls for engine coolant replacement...transmission fluid replacement....air filter replacement....fuel filter replacement...and a few other small things. The problem is my tire loyalty certificate states "you must follow manufacturers maintenance as outlined in your owners manual" , but the dealership seems to think i must follow THEIR maintenance schedule! The owners manual states most of these things do not have to be done until 60000 miles. Who should i contact about this problem since my dealer is refusing to honor the certificate even though it clearly states i have to follow the owner's manual...not them! This is clearly wrong!

U made one of the biggest mistake in your life.

Anyway, u sound young, so u might want to explain this to some older dude in your family or a friend, then ask them to talk to the dealership.

if it fails, tell the dealership if they dont honor it, wait for the lawyer letter in their mailbox.

The entire point of a loyalty program is to keep you as a customer, so just don't go back. If you couldn't get cheaper rates somewhere else, they wouldn't need a loyalty program, so just tell them to cram it up their cram-holes and go somewhere else.

yep. read the fine print. it will probably state that you have to do all maintenance on THEIR schedule and pay THEIR high prices. you're pretty much toast. come on, you really didnt believe you'd get free tires, did ya?

I did read the fine print..Thats when i noticed it said to follow the owners manual. None the less i have filed complaints with the appropriate people and who knows what will come out of it. I will not get anymore service done at that dealership for sure. Still love my car!

A friend of mine has a tire program w/ a dealership. He has gotten free OEM's but has had to adhere to their program (read play the game). They also expect the tires they give to last a certain number of miles before replacement. That way you cant burn em down and expect replacements before you pay for some "scheduled" maintenance. He even had to buy an unneeded OEM air filter or else void the tire deal (has RB intake).

Its not a scam per se but they certainly arent going to make it easy to get "free" stuff. Most people wont stay on top of it which is exactly what they want.

I just went through that same thing. I missed my "first tire rotation", however I had a scheduled oil change done within a few hundred miles of the 7500 'reccommended" by Mazda...and it was not mentioned to me. I took it up with the GM and reminded him that not only was it my responsibility to take care of my car, but theirs to let me know when certain things were done for safety reasons. I walked away with a brand new set of Kumho's. Not the Dunlop SS's that I thought but at least one set of free tires for my trouble. My 30K is due so they will get my business for that....but I'm debating about anything else. It will jus take a while for me to trust them again...but I don't have a choice when it comes to the upcoming maintenence.

Tires for life my ***. These dealers only do this to get you to come back and pay out the ***. Just say **** it and get some good tires the oem tire aren't very good anyways. But good luck, warranties are created in hope that you'll pay for it and never use it, or they find some way of screwing you out of it.
