that looks horrible.. is the dealer really covering that? i thought clutches were pretty hard to get warranty coverage, seeing as its wear and tear.
i have 60k on my car on the same clutch and it seems absolutely fine, no slips, no change since the car was new. 18k is amazing.

these pictures were sent to the mazda regional manger for service or something like that by my local mazda. its looking like this is going to try to be pinned on me but, i think its kind of ridiculous considering my car is under warranty and only has 18000 miles and is all stock :\

Or yours could be the catalyst that makes Mazda sit up and take notice an issue a recall for all of us. Wouldn't that be cool.
I've been around automotive shops since I was in my teens, and I'm 44.I have NEVER seen anything that looks like that. It almost seems as though the transmission was beginning to twist a little.
I am NO expert, however this is what I see.
You probably have a defective clutch assembly, which was warped to begin with. When the tranny and clutch assembly were put together the bolts were over torqued to compensate and over time they have tried to correct the warp and which in turn would twist the transmission.
That's covered. Period. If I were you..I'd basically tell them nicely that you plan on getting a second opinion if it doesn't go your way, and do it.
Good luck.

I can't take seriously a kid who pretentds to own an RX-7 and an RX-8 when we all know they are your DAD'S cars.
Also, I find it even HARDER to believe a kid who ran his mouth a while back and when he was called out at a local meet, CRIED in front of the entire group.
I find it even HARDER to take seriously someone who won't listen to advice given and continues to ask for an answer when one has already been provided.
grow up stealth, learn to drive. Good luck on that clutch

A clutch braket will not cause that problem.
A blown clutch like that will cause undue pressure on the bracket and cause it too fail.
Root cause is in the clutch area or driver.

Oh c'mon Stealthfox, they are only ribbing you a little. Good luck with the car, and let us know what you find out. You may end up helping us all. Why do you think there seems to be such a keen interest in this?
This entire forum is based on other's discoveries, problems, knowledge that has been passed on to help others. Thats why most are so adamant about searching. Rarely does something come up that has not already been discovered, corrected, or someone has taken the initiative to correct. That clutch bracket is a prime example.
Just relax and giggle, it'll do ya good. All is done in good fun.
OUCH JEDI! Make me eat my words why dont ya!

that last line was classic for a guy who earlier stated:
either way you blew up your clutch because you can't drive. Best of luck with the repairs.
You're right, the thread title of "My clutch snapped"should have told us it was your dad's.
