I think this is a pretty interesting thread!
I kind of regret buying the "Carbon fiber" strakes from Rotary FX. They were $80, and they weren't even real CF! They look pretty good for fakes, but still... Pretty disappointing.

My biggest regret is listening to bad internet advice. My 8 came with a tinted visor across the windshield. I hated it, so I pulled it off and it left a ton of residue behind. Being an idiot, I listened to an internet suggestion to use a scotchbrite pad and Formula 409 to clean it off. It cleaned it off just fine, and it also left a ton of swirly scratches on the top 4" of the glass. Luckily you can only see them from the inside when a light shines through at just the right angle. Still pisses me off after three years.
Another regret is buying brand new all-seasons two weeks before discovering autocross.

I regret not going with BNR for my Greddy turbo upgrade from day one. Trying to save a couple hundred buck after spending nearly $7,000.00 is just dumb, especially since now it is costing me much more than a couple hundred bucks to resolve the issue.

Agreed.
If I have any regrets at all about my 8 it is that all too often I had to leave it in a parking garage while cheating on it with another lesser model, and that on days like this I have a responsibility to get work done rather than taking it out.
No mod regrets, no ownership regrets, no cost regrets, no mileage regrets. None.

You just summed up car modding in one paragraph. Well done. This also applies to exterior stuff to. People sometimes buy poorly done replica pieces to save money but end up paying more to bodyshops to get everything to fit right.
Only 'mod' i regret = strakes
should have just kept it clean.
+1 w/Riwwp.
No regrets about the vehicle...
Only regrets i have are simple...I regret not having a garage for it, i regret putting it through years of bumper to bumper traffic in LA, i regret not knowing much about the car prior to modding it and having to do some trail n' error and most of all i regret thinking that a 350z was what i really wanted when i walked into the dealership the day i picked up my 8.

I regret buying those cheap *** rotaryfx strakes, they didnt even last a year without peeling lol. Also regret buying 18x7.5 rims and should have went with 19's from the start I had the cash but i didnt do my research. Definitely regret not taking the rotaryfx stealth corners peeling the silicone, and re-sealing them myself cause when it rains water gets in them sometimes smh. Last thing i regret is not buying the BHR ignition kit....
I regret being inpatient thus spending more money then I needed to for my SC build. I could of had a REW swap with more power...smh. Live and learn. 12k for 300whp. Sad but true. Love the car either way.
9k regrets NOT going with turblown? Oh the difference a couple years make.
