The "Mods I Regret" Thread

so i was chatting with NgoRX8 about a few things i wish i did differently, and he told me that another car forum has a thread like this, and he suggested that i start one here. so post up your the mods you regret doing and why. perhaps the product just sucks, now all that you could have hoped for, or perhaps you've learned something about yourself and wish you spent the money on different mods, or other things in life.

ill begin...

i wish i got some KW v3 instead of my Tein Flex. the flex are nice but more adjustability is nicer. plus the rears of the Teins don't have as wide a range for height adjustment as i would have liked (don't go low enough!)

also wish i didn't buy a body kit. it looks nice and i love how it looks, but i just wish i spent the money on other things that i realize are more important to me (lightweight exhaust, intake, battery, sway bars, or maybe investing in some bonds or something). i mean, i can still do those mods...i just need to make a lot more money

so what do you regret and why?

I also wish I'd done suspension before exhaust.

I regret buying a Veilside rear for my 2006 8. The auto body shop wouldnt install it since it requires removal of the crunch bar. A hazard for sure...

haha, i told you this would be a good thread.

lets see- mods i regret are...

Au-to Bahn bodykit: i forsee it getting played out soon.

Racing Beat Exhaust: want a louder and lighter exhaust.

Autolumination lights: most burn't out

MS cf spoiler: ended up trashing it cuz it fitted bad, quality sucked, and disliked the look with my kit.

actually, also regret a couple other mods i spent and wasted money only to never put it on.

I am hating my freaking size-of-a-shoebox carputer that I am trying desperiately to fit somewhere in the must-use-every-single-nook-and-cranny-for-something-important RX-8 interoir. I wish I would have gotten a much, much smaller computer now instead of saving a few hundred bucks. It's probably cost me the extra building an aluminum box and support brackets and crap at Hoem Depot than the tiny CPU would have cost me in the first place. Oh well, I will love it once it's in there. Eventually.......

I regret trying the "yank and pray" method of taking off the center trim before reading about pushing the tab to the side from the cup holder area.
Oh well, the only person who knows the center section is loose is me.
