Just realizing how horrible the RENESIS is..

We know.. you called Miata owners gay.
Sure, some people need to learn to read (like college students, horrifying)... but I have read your posts, you need to learn how to formulate a proper sentence. Kind of hard to read your posts and get anything from it outside of the fact we need a Rosetta Stone to make sense of what you are saying. True story.
If you properly expressed your thoughts I am certain the lashing you have received would have been far less painful.

You know, I don't think I've ever run into anyone who finds the Miata "gay", who can actually quantify WHY they believe it's "gay".
r3mike, can you explain WHY you think the Miata is "gay"?
Something other than just saying "cause it is" or "cause the other people think so".
Pro-Tip: "because I'm an ignorant fool" is an acceptable response if you choose to use that one.

i would like to apologize for what i said in the past, people sometimes get very mad when there car is talked about in a negative way . i think all cars have negative sides to it. let me say that maybe its our age differences as to why i think the way i think. i am in college and in my 20s. and i deal with "younger" people who mostly all they see is HP numbers to label a car on. and i am at the age where i want to impress people rather than have a car that i really like. i give repsct to people who have a rx8 because its a true drivers car, but i was only saying what a lot of people think of the car. and why there is not a lot of people driving them.

Thank you. I just hope you are sincere about it.
Yes, some people do. But notice that we bash the RX-8 plenty too, but there is a limit that we take it to, and you crossed the line.
Agreed. Not a single person here has been saying that the RX-8 is a perfect car, or that it has no flaws, or that it doesn't have the negatives that it does. We were getting offended by you taking the good points that it has and saying that they have no value.
Entirely understandable. We completely disagree, but it is still understandable. We aren't the people that are going to be impressed, so you might want to check out forums where they like your car in general.
Actually, this isn't the case. You AREN'T giving ANY respect (until this post) for RX-8 drivers. Read back over your posts. You have been bashing, belittling, attacking, and trash talking RX-8 owners the entire thread.
THIS is what we have such a problem with you about.
We KNOW what alot of people say. We go against the grain and don't give a flying fart what they say.
Someday when you grow up too, you will realize the perspective we have in regards to "what other people say".

It is actually a good thing that you can recognize the problem with your way of communicating. Some of it is age and some of it is experience. With experience it becomes less important to impress anyone. You do your thing and that is all that matters.
With age comes experience and the age is what makes you do things that impress others even if it is against what you want. So we can chalk it up to both instances. This is fine, sometimes one must learn when to stop and when their words are having the opposite effect than what was intended.
Yay... you learned something out of this entire shitshow of a thread.

Once again, this is the wrong forum and totally the wrong thread for such a question. A forum for RX-8 enthusiasts is not the right time or place... especially after what has previously transpired. Your apology, if sincere, was accepted. Let it go. Trust me.

1 then 4 then 3 then 2.
Looks mean different things to different people. I actually dislike most pre-90 body shapes and styles and themes. I recognize most people like them. I also dislike the "appearance" of weight. A car could be an empty shell underneath, and if it looks big and heavy, I automatically dislike the appearance of it.
Pretty much the same reason why I like this pic:

I hope I'm making you think.
I would also love to run across someone who can actually articulate exactly what makes a Miata "gay", other than it's one of the happiest cars out there, which helps make it attractive to me.
I actually do know, largely, why that impression came about, but it got there through so many twisted and mutilated definitions and presumptions that it's entirely invalid.

Ok... all this "gay" talk is irritating.
Using gay to mean "stupid" is just plain dumb. To use gay to mean "not stylish", "weak", "wimpy" or "lacking style" you really are too young... not in annum but in mentality.
If you really want to break it down... gay people are the reason your women look great, gay people are the reason you don't look like a hobo and given all the crap gay people have to put up with... they are stronger than any straight person I have met.
Drop it before your feelings get hurt or an actually gay rugby player/mechanic reads you.

you have your liking of a car i am not trying to make you change your thinking, only sharing some light on what i think of the car thats it.
on another note, saying you will not be impressed by my camaro is kind of ignorant. as car people i like most sports cars. and if i gave you a ride in my 500HP camaro and you hear the sound and feel the power. you should be impressed. and i would be impressed with your 9k+ red line, and the handling of the car. thats goes with any other sports car. i would be impressed by a STI 0-60 times etc. but "most" /average thinking people do not understand whats so cool about the rx8. all they see is 1.3L 159TQ/ 232HP 0-60 times/1/4 mile. and the thats were the camaro shines. and why more people are impressed by my car over yours. i am not saying my car is better, but only that the average person would like it better. thats all

That's largely my point Lancifer, but usually people who use it as derogatory have no basis for doing so. I am leading him, by the nose if I have to, into actually thinking for himself, thinking about what he is doing and why. And in that self-examination people tend to realize their preconceptions are false, and they are far more prejudice or bigoted than they believe themselves to be.
They have to be the ones to realize it through thinking their way through what they are doing. I've never know "just talking at them" to ever work.
It's the same reason I take the time to explain things to newbies. Trying to get them to think things through.

And 500hp Camaro is actually slower (being 4,000lbs) than the 520hp Evo I've driven. And while I respected the power, it wasn't fun, it wasn't enjoyable.
I respect cars for what they are. And at least your posts are now respecting other cars for what they are as well. You weren't doing that before.

wow... you tell em the fire is hot yet they still touch it.
Impressed is the wrong word. Enjoyable sure, but to impress an experienced driver you need more than an engine growl to do it. Impressed would be to give us something unexpected. Incredible horse power and handling from a car with a 1.3l engine is impressive. 500HP and a loud growl from a Camaro is not impressive it is par for the course for what is expected from that car. See the difference?
Wait... why the f*ck am I getting sucked further into this? I'm gonna get ready to leave work for the day and enjoyably drive my 8 home.

Ok. I could care less about the average person. FYI. I don't have the need to impress them like you. I only have a need to fulfill the desires I have.

I think the only issue I have with Mazda in general is that they manufactured a car that is supposed to be for the everyday driver, this car was not developed for enthusiasts, it was developed for everyone, and yet as soon as it had problems, they turned the problem around on the buyer not faulty engineering. I love my RX8 and it has not had any problems yet. However, if it does start having issues, it is not my fault, I do all the bs to keep it running great. (Premix, Check the oil levels weekly, Added a great air filter) and yet a car should need that much TLC. I think those of you turning the engine problem around on the driver have been brain washed by Mazda using reverse marketing schemes. I talk to engineers at the Mazda dealership and when I give them my VIN and they see it has not had any problems @ 37K miles, they look amazed, which is sad. It makes me think that the RX8 has had so many problems, that the engineers @ Mazda are shocked when they see one with over 30K miles without a mark on its record, this is truly sad. Mazda had done us a great favor by extending the Warranty on the car. However, the engine needs major improvements.
