Yeah I don't know Dan , all I know is the OP needs to get out in the real world. Its up to dan if its worth it for him to make the 2 or 3 hr drive (plus he has no car!) and not making $2k from the sale he's losing money he didn't get the wheels for free. If had helped he would been great guy but b/c he didn't it doesn't make a bad guy. Ask yourself why won't you ready for any emergence for a long road trip?

" he didn't WANT to sell them bad enough."

Are you for real?!? Its his item he could sell it any way he please

Ah, so driving in the middle of nowhere, without AAA, without a can of Fix-a-Flat, without a spare tire, with dear old mom in the car, without any sort of plan for a tire emergency, with what apparently was at least two bad tires (considering the tire shop said the OP needed TWO tires) and expecting a guy without car to come rescue him.......that is messed up logic?!?

LOL!

The OP is just looking for someone to blame.

OSDucky needs to take responsibility for his own actions, or lack of them, instead of lashing out at someone.

You don't agree?
I could care less, and so could the majorityy of people who have responded that OSDucky is out of line.

personally i think this thread should just get locked. i think everyone who wants to do business with dan has already figured out they will either ignore this thread or for some reason not do business. it's not like there's more to be said from either party since it's just a deal that didn't go down. i know for me this wouldn't sour my opinion of dan but sure would make me think twice about selling to OSducky.

I'm not friends with either of the parties involved, but....

1. It was an honest request from the O/P for some assistance.

2. It was well within the rights of the seller not to change the terms at the eleventh hour.

Bottom line. This was a deal that didn't get done. I think that both parties should move on with their business.

Just my 2 cents.

Peace out.
Too true. I can't say that I like the attitude of either Dan or the OP, but its just sour luck for both. Both need to adjust their attitudes, but that's neither here nor there if we're talking about a business deal.

Better to just move on, and avoid doing business with people who don't fit your needs. The OP has some growing up to do.

Are you slow? All I am doing is laughing at you saying that he somehow weasled out of this deal that never happened. Do you get it yet, or should I type it out with bold case letters just to make sure you actually understand me the 3rd or 4th time. Let me know, I'd like to clarify so I don't have to read another post like yours that didn't support your opinion.

Why do I get the impression that you know the original poster? It's the only rational reason I can see for defending his behavior. Had it just been bad luck, he could've left it at that. Instead, he decided to blame this on Dan. It just reeks of emotional immaturity to displace the blame in such a way.

-_- you are missing my point too. I'm not defending or doing anything of that sort at this point... I'm pointing out that his logic is fucked based on his prior post, that's it.

Yesterday I was debating all day long whether or not to buy that COBB AP. I spent most of my time, researching this forum and reading all about it. I stopped at a bar for a drink on my way home from work, there was about 4 extremly intoxicated men at the bar. When I finished my drink i was getting up to leave, and these 4 men jumped me and completly beat me up for no reason. They took my wallet, flashed their ***** at me, etc. Once I got home I called to order my COBB AP I researched so dearly earlier in the day. I can't believe the poor customer service. They wouldnt lower the price at all because I got beat up this very evening. Can you believe that? I even told them through numerous emails "Hey I got beat up 2night, you should give it to me for 20.00." "Help a rotoryhead out." They wouldnt budge. How dare they?

Well from what I understand he was 60 miles out and didn't need to spend $500 on the extra tires if Dan came out. So he would have paid him the $2000 plus the $150 from his mama.

A 2 hour drive was about 3/4 a tank of gas in my RX8. So at the prices now a days it seems as if it would have cost him between $40-50 just to get there and back. So I mean it would have been $100 profit. But for someone who makes $60 an hour then I guess that would be less than they are used to.

Also Dan was apparently without a car so this shouldn't' even be a thread right now if thats the case.

However I must admit that the way Dan posted in this thread he does sound like an *** .....but growing up in New York I'm just gonna say he's your average northerner .........plus how would you respond if someone posted a bad guy thread about you over this

Yeah, but...

Here's what I would have done:

OS: Hey man, my car just broke down. Any chance you can drive these tires 60 miles to meet me? I'll give 'ya an extra $120 for your trouble.

ME: Sorry, but my truck's on jack stands, and there's no way in hell I'm putting those tires in my -8 and getting the leather dirty. I didn't want to ship these in the first place, and I just don't have any way to get them there, even if I wanted to waste 2 hours of my life driving up there and back, which by the way, I don't, 'cause I'm working on the house right now.

Several hours later:

OS: Hey man, I just had to spend $500 to fix my car 'cause it broke down on the way. Any chance you can lower your price to $1500?

Me: Sorry, bro, but I'm already selling them cheap. If you don't want them for the price, then don't buy them. I'd rather have them sit in my garage than LOSE $500 on the sale. Sorry, but that's just the way it goes; if you want to buy them for $2,000 like you said, then by all means come on down. Otherwise, I'll just hold on to them until someone that wants to pay $2,000 comes by.

And when OS posted something on a messageboard calling me out for holding firm on my price, I'd be pissed as a hornet, 'cause not only did that whining bastage try to guilt me out of $500, but now he's trying to ruin my name in public... Out of shear spite and blatent disregard for my money, Id've already hired a lawyer and sent him a "Cease & Desist" letter informing him if he opened his flubbin' mouth one more time on a messageboard or other regarding this, I'd take him to court for libel.

Again...this is fuktarded. Dude, you didn't have enough money to buy the tires; don't try to "guilt" someone into lowering their price. Either buy them, or don't; but don't get a deal online, then be pissy that the seller won't make you an even better deal...

Please wake up in the real world next time around, and realize that nobody owes you a damn thing in life...quit expecting a handout just 'cause you had a bad day... Friggin' kids' senses of entitlement these days is really starting to **** me off...

let's just get something straight, i can be a dick, people tell me this. but if you bash me publicly, then forget the whole nice-guy thing. it's totally out of the window now. none of you guys know me at all. if you have ever met me, you would know that i am very respectful. i love meeting new people, especially if we have a common interest. i have helped so many people with car problems (it's what i do for a living). don't judge me because i didn't drive to help out another rx8 owner. i don't owe this kid anything, money doesn't mean **** to me. he could've offered my another $1000, i still wouldn't have driven out there if i could. my rx8 is not something i want to rack up unnecessary miles on. and there is no way in hell i'm going to put 4 19" wheels in my car. i have told several people to hold off because OSducky said he was going to buy my wheels. i even gave him an extra week to come down. i have answered all his questions, i have posted pictures of my wheels, i just don't know how much more HELPFUL i can be on this forum.

i'm done...if you want to get to know me, feel free to PM or come out to a meet. hit me up on AIM if you'd like. but, until we're are good friends or get to know one another, don't expect anything from me.

danomite didn't say he was going to sell anything to me, and we hadn't discussed anything. However today I demanded that he give me the rims for free, and he had the nerve to not drive 1,200 miles to my house and deliver it for free as I had demanded.

I'm outraged. Dan is a bad guy for not giving me stuff I'm demanding. What has this world come to? Maybe I have to work on my blackmail techniques.

Oh, Noes! Some person on the internet is laughing at me! Oh Noes!!

But seriously, I was wrong. I am man enough to admit that.

My bad.

It wasn't just one person Dan turned away.....apparently there were several willing buyers, before OSducky weasled out.

What could be better support of my opinion than Dan confirming that, yes, he had passed on the opportunity to sell the items to other club members, in order to let OSDucky have them?

Have a nice day.

yeah really, how can you blame soemone for an unfortunate situation,,, most of us have busy schedules and cant really afford to be strangers saving grace.
I really dont see where your argument lies here OP...
A deals a deal, if you had something come up you should have just called to say 'hey Im not gonna be able to make it today but Im still interested in the wheels' Dan has had these wheels for a long time and isnt desperate to sell them so why should he compromise the value of a really nice product, your deal is about 2/3s the actual value of the package,,,,
