I don't know why the tape button is even there...there may be some 8s that came with tape decks but I've never seen one.

Im 18 and graduated from high school in may of this year. I had a 05 Mazda 6 when I turned 16 as my first car (hahaha yeah im spoiled). Then after a couple months i got rid of it for my rx8. I love my rx8, but you really really really need to think about it hard before getting one. I have one and sometimes I have moments where I want to get rid of it because my best friend drives an Evo 8 and another good friend of mine drives a speed6 and another one a srt4. So as you can see I cant keep up as well sometimes but hey, my car sure does look SEXIER. The reason I got the car is because i fell in love with it since the first time they got an rx8 at the dealership that my dad worked at, and I didnt even have a liscence then but I know I always made my dad take me for rides in it. So make sure you just think about it hard.

^ Yes, you'll need to pay extra I believe.. But isn't it easier just getting the ipod mod and listening to your music there?

i get the feeling you really want this car just for looks...it scores very very high in that cat., but you should really rethink your decision. did you test drive one yet? also its a high maint car. Im not saying that its not for you but you really need to look into this more.

the altima, new accord coupe, acura tl, a4, 3 series...nice and sporty looking, jsut offering alternatives to look into.

i want looks and control ^^
i could care less about gas. i get annoyed when im in my friends car and hes complaining about gas... im just like, get over it...
ALTHOUGH im worried a bit right now as i live in GA and we are like THE MOST EXPENSIVE state dealing with gas atm.

and, im a neat keep it clean freak.
you touch my screen of my zune with ur finger, ill grab it from u and wipe it clean and pout it back in its pouch and check on it every few hours.
my desktop computer, uve probably never seen such a clean computer before... as in the software and programs in it and how organized it is and the daily checks i do on it.
i dont think a cars maintenance is going to be a problem ^^ except the cost

Get the Accord.

Or a Civic...
Dammit, I couldn't stand NOT saying "get a Civic". It's like impossible not to say. I tried. I couldn't resist. "Get the Accord" just doesn't have the same ring, you know?

To tell you the truth, the 8 does not have enough power for a first car.
If you are gonna learn how to control a car, you need at least 350-400HP to the wheels. Be a man and step up to a vette or something.

eh?
i dont need no 350-400 HP lol.
yea, i get what u mean YaXMaNGTO but ive driven that thing for a while and i dun like it.
i read some reviews on edmund.com and almost all of them had a 9-10 in "fun to drive" and thats one thing im looking for, or else i wouldnt be getting a 6 speed manual.
and uniqueness ^^
i jsut absolutely luv the 4 door coupe!
and i am starting to like rotary engines more and more im on this thread.

EDIT: ok, im starting to sound pretty ignorant right now =P
here are the cars i am thinking of for my first.
04 toyota camry 12k
05 mazda 6 11k
350z 16k (i doubt ill get this, hate nissans...gotta love the GTR though)
03 accord 13k
04 rx8 11k-14k (would 11k with 70k mileage or 14k with 30k mileage be a better choice?)
and maybe a solara? civic?

I would either get the accord or the 8

did you consider a VW, not that it would be reliable, but some are fun cars.

You could probably get a decent 05 for 14 grand easy with possibly less miles!

Maintenance, what high maintenance. Check the oil, change the oil and filter every 3k mi. Drive it. I have had to do no more maintenance on it than any other car.....

How about $350 for plugs and coils every 30,000 miles, or tires that last not much more than 15,000 mi.
