how old are you?

 

some of you have advised against red lining it in first, how come? just curious, and if it's a silly question, oh well.

 

i do it in 1st all the time...but 2nd gets made if i don't redline it as well :p

 

I rarely redline my 8 during the week, but average 2 to 6 times (2nd and 3rd gears) on weekends :D

if you dont redline your 8 AT LEAST once day.. ure a disgrace and should not be driving it!

 

I redline it as much as I possibly can. That's what this car was designed for and I do it as often as traffic allows. Within resonable speeds of course. People have had their 8's towed to the dealers because they granny it all the time. It's so easy to just shift around 3 or 4k no problem. But why would you? I tool around town in 2nd and 3rd gear just so I can peak the RPM's. I love it! But I only really drive it on the weekends...

 

Often in 2nd and 3rd (daily)
Occasionally in 1st and 4th (weekly+)
Never in 5th and 6th (5th I just haven't had the opportunity and 6th is impossible on the road)
