Calm down, drag racing is a form or racing. Quick reaction time is needed in all forms of racing. If I still raced, a road track would be my choice but avoiding the cones would be fun also. Drag racing is not my thing but I must defend it as a true form of racing.

"Real racing" like tooling around a parking lot in second gear avoiding cones? And by majority you mean probably less than 1% of RX-8 owners?

The WS6 is certainly no handling marvel but it handles well enough for a lot of people. The guy asked some simple questions, questions he could have found the answers to in a search... However, maybe one of those days you guys will surprise me by not bashing a car just because it does some things better than the RX-8.

Serious agreement with Ike here. Holy crap you guys were rude. Granted, he should know to search or look through the forum before asking that question. But you guys talked trash about his car before he defended his car. A lot of you are seriously insecure about how slow the RX-8 is in a straight line.

Anyway, to answer the original post, forced induction is the only way to get any good power from these cars. I've never ridden in a turbo rx8 but I can only assume that it's a very well balanced vehicle. You won't be able to get above 340whp or so, but that's nothing to sneeze at, either. I suggest that you look up the Mazsport turbo kit.

No, because you none RX8 owners hang out in other car forums. Only to try to come up with excuses to justify their/your bad choice of car ownership.

If u arent a troll (i will give u benefit of doubt) tell your "family member" he is better off joining the forum himself and taking the intiative to doing some research and learning up on the rotary engine. He will be welcomed and benefit from experienced forum members.

As for you, thank you so much for being such a concerned family member. You sound proud of your sweet trans am, and good for you. If you want some positive feedback re: your car, ur in the wrong place brother. There are plenty of V8 forums out there. We are well aware of what V8's do, they are all generally the same.

Every car forum on the net has plenty of people that don't own the car associated with the site. It's part of what makes car forums fun. In fact I'd be irritated to no end if the forums for the cars that I own or have owned were full of nothing but fanbois such as yourself.

P.S. Sorry for the delayed response, it took me a few minutes to translate your incoherent ramblings.

Arrow Re:

I didn't see anyone bash him first. From the first few posts people are acutally trying to help and give suggestions like reduce weight and that's when out of no where he says if he loses the same 100lbs in his Trans Am he'll be faster than the RX-8. There's no point in saying that and I think that's why some of the other RX-8 owners replied back negatively.

Let me see, for performance enhancements I would say; a) crank pulley b) a short shifter c) a light weight flywheel d) intake e) straight pipe f) Racing Beat flash g) Coilovers f) sway bars g) light weight wheels h) a gear set maybe and some driving lessons. Other than that, just save your pennies and go FI.

thats basically it, then just go looking around the forums to see specifically which brands you want for each part. The OP is a really nice guy as i talked to him before this thread started. i agree with ike, zoom, and slayer, he is just looking out for his family, wouldnt you do the same. the people who were flaming him are contradicting themselves because a lot of people (not all) go and post threads in the general automotive about how you want the new GT-R or a e-92 m3. think before you talk, it really helps. and every one needs to chill, just have a good time. this is the internet, if you get pissed, go look at **** and jerk it, that will cool you off. ahaha
