exactly.
i beg to differ.
goodluck picking out a turbo. i would look into mazsport if you want as much power as you have in your ws6. anything less you can look into greddy, pettit racing, hymee, and um..returning the car.

a cheap and free way to make the 8 quicker TA?
power:weight ratio!!!
try the how much stock rx8 parts weight thread. its nice read. a good start too.
and in my personal opinion as i'm also trying to reduce weight and keeping near factory interior look...its pretty hard! even the door inner panel are made of some light hard composite. my realistic goal is 100lbs(no aftermarket light parts replacement, including wheels)

for being what it is it handles pretty good, it is built more for a straight line i agree with that. but i still handles pretty good. im sure an rx8 handles better but for what i use it for it handles great

Re:
Like the others have said, RX-8 isn't a straightline car, but only a handful of cars from factory will out handle it on the curves.

Re:
Ya, for sure Phil, OP can keep asking about the RX-8, but what's the point of defending his Trans Am on another cars forum? Trying to convince yourself on choosing the right car? Enough talk about the Trans Am and talk about the RX-8, talk about the Trans Am at the www.transamcountry.com forum or take it to the general automotive forums.

If your really interested, read a few of the forums already started - then if your questions are not answered there, you can ask your questions of any that you see posting. We are a friendly group that will not flame you unless deserved. A good place to start would be "After Market Performance"

oh wow, tell us something we don't know. of course, the majority of us on here do REAL racing, as opposed to drag racing that only requires shifting and concentrating on the christmas tree. you can strip 2000lbs from your car and it would still handle like ****. and i'm not ignorant about the ws6 because that was the car i learned everything about mechanics on in my auto technology courses.

I'm still a F-Body fan, I use to own a few Pontiacs and was with the gmeternal.com car club here in SoCal when I owned them. I still love Pontiacs, don't get me wrong, your WS6 is great, but what's the point of coming to these forums and saying:
I'm not sure if you haven't noticed, but your WS6 has a solid rear axle and the suspension points are optimized for drags and not corners. For handling, cars isn't just about horsepower and weight, there are things called suspension components and the way the manufacturers place them for optimized camber/toe capabilities.
It's like someone with a twin-turbo 350Z going to your Trans Am forums and saying how the VQ can be better tuned than a LS1, whether that is fact or not you know the Trans Am guys are gonna jump on him.
Keep the questions about RX-8 or even better, do a search, there's a whole technical section with aftermarket mods you can search through.
