^^^ I like it too, it has the same rotor-shaped hood the 8 does but i think the front needs to be reworked.... little bit bigger grill like the first gen 8's...

Not a fan of the front end.... Looks like the Mazda 3, Rotary edition.

I'd buy it. Like others have already said, lighter, more power, handling, better looks etc..., and I could care less about the gas since we bought a subie that only gets a little bit better mpg then what my 8 gets which I average around 22c-25h some how.

I'll buy the new car after I graduate college in '13. Assuming the world hasn't imploded and I can find a job, of course.

for me it will depend entirely on the transmission they mate it to. last i read the high-power model was going to paired with one of those stupid flappy paddle "manuals". if it doesn't come with 3 pedals, i won't be driving it. rotary or otherwise.

I will if I can afford it *Seriously doubt I will...*

I love my 8, but depending on how the 16x shapes up, and what they put it into...let's just say "White On Rice."

I'll buy a 16X vehicle or an FD/FC if it's ever financially possible for me.

We'll see what happens

EU

Would like one, but in my country (Cyprus) they just put a new law and tax any rx8 imported as a 2.6l that costs around 20000 Euro just for tax.. I guess they will charge the 16x as a 3.2l !!!

I've stated the same preference earlier in the thread, but automated manual gearbox is not "stupid" by any means.

It's a superior technology that allows drivers shave literally seconds off their lap times, assuming they track.

I buy my sports cars for the driving experience, as I don't track, so it's unnecessary for me.

But why go out of the why and call them "stupid"?

I highly doubt the most prestigious supercar company Ferrari would adopt their racing gearbox technology so promptly the moment they were able to mass produce it for road going vehicles.

If the rumor for 6 speed automated manual gearbox, then I might have to pass.
I don't track, so the automated manual box is pretty pointless to me.
I do have all the admiration in the world for the technology though, it's been proven to shave pretty good time for lapping purposes.
it might be a seven speed manual gear box. it was shown along with the 16X
