Getting a non-flip out key

So I want to have a non flip-out key. Does anyone know if I need to contact mazda to get one.

If I can get just a regular key, or on ebay, do I still have to have mazda cut it?

Any info would help.

thanks.

You can get a blank on eBay, but it isn't the real thing unless the seller specifies it is the real deal. I bought one on eBay and it looks almost like my original Mazda one, but there are slight differences in style and texture. Any locksmith or hardware store should be able to cut it. The problem you will have is programming it. If you already have two keys you can program it yourself. Search to find out how.

When I had mine cut the locksmith had a key programmer and said sometimes the eBay keys don't always have working chips inside. Keep this in mind in case you end up with a dead key. If you buy one from Mazda you shouldn't have programming problems and they may even program it for free if you buy the key from them. Depends on the dealer.

I just want a key that turns the locks. I need one to hide in the car to open only the glove box. it doesn't need to have remote capabilities.

So you're saying I can just grab one on ebay and take it to walmart or something and have them cut it?

You don't even need to buy one on eBay if all you need it for is to open the glove box. Most places that cut keys carry generic key blanks that will work. Should only be a few dollars.
