Sure. I'll teach you Fortran.

Great thread resurrection. I joined a few months after the original went on hiatus.

Aerospace engineer, but I finished my last degree in 1970 when the Aerospace depression got rolling. Wound up in acoustics...and drifted into aircraft noise. Engineer through it all.

This thread is too funny and too true. I only have a 2 year degree, so I'm an "Engineering Associate." I write embedded firmware code for a living.

Like all of you, I really like the uniqueness of the 8. The new Mustangs and Camaros are nice, but I don't want to feel like I'm back in high school. At 43 I hate the "mid life crisis" label. That might apply to someone my age buying a Corvette or Porsche, but I don't think it applies to RX-8 owners. Oh well, just a stupid saying someone came up with, kind of like the idiot who decided employees should be called 'Associates." LOL

Alright the hell with it, since the thread was revived.
Count me in..........Lead Project Engineer, so that includes Design, Product, and Test Engineering of both Analog and Digital High performance circuits.........mainly for Space and/or Military applications. Mix in a limited amount of medical and commercial ASIC's, along with a small amount of automotive and you start to get the picture. Have also done Systems Engineering in the past.

Ok, we have enough engineers here to build the new RX-9. I have enough floor space here in Miami for every one to sleep until we're done.

My baby is in storage for the winter... coming out in April for season six with me!
Meanwhile at work I'm developing wafer sort and packed part tests for a new 28Gb/s device...
In the old days (the late 80's) we use to think 40MHz clocks were fast... lol

Physicist "I can make a rotor spin in a circle creating three chambers"

Engineer "Cool, I can use that to transfer the rotational energy into something useful, like a car engine"

Marketer "Slap it in the Mazda and let's call it RX"

Dealership "RX-8's on Sale $5,000 off MSRP - only rotary production car in the world!"

Car Salesman "Yes sir, you will love this car, no torque, no power, terrible gas mileage and you have to add oil every other fill up"

Me "Where do I sign?"

Aerospace engineer here. I'm noticing a disproportionate number of people from aero/aviation fields in this thread!
