The RX-8 has 2 main wiring harnesses, the engine harness and the body harness. The body harness has most of it's bulk behind the dash, though it runs to other locations throughout the chassis as well.

How is the rest of your ignition system? Is the car warming up all the way when you drive it?

Yes it def is my shortest run is 45 minutes and after 5-10 of idling to operating temps. Also now have signs of water in the oil. Related to the flooding at all???

Chris, your "flooding" is almost certainly due to coolant draining into the housing. Coolant isn't a good burner, and it's fouling up your plugs in the process, not to mention having all sorts of other issues as a result of your other hardware failures. Flooding is a symptom anyway, and you have failures in far too many critical systems at this point.

Yet, another plug analysis photo. These are my plugs after 20,000 miles, I just want to get an input from you all. Premix with Idemitsu with half an ounce a gallon of gas and one day of five track sessions at Buttonwillow. Mostly highway driving and a decent amount of aggressive city driving as well.

Bump,
I'm no expert and the picture might be a bit over exposed.
Light brown and build up is normal but IMO those appear to be a bit hot or too white or burnt.

Anyone else? I'm interested in what everyone thinks.

Fixed. A slight variation on the announcement has been replicated to many other common areas of the forum.

Anyone got a simple (with pics?) way to explain to me how to line everything up when installing the PPF?

I read the instructions but felt loss and pretty much just matched the marks on it to put it back in.

I installed a new clutch kit and everything is working great except I am still getting a jerking motion when starting from a dead stop sometimes.

Have you read through the factory article on transmission installation? It has the ideal order. You want to get the bolts/nuts in on everything first, but then tighten up from the back of the car to the front. Then the final position of the front of the PPF is important when you torque those bolts down at the end. The distance between the bottom of the PPF and one of the lateral braces needs to be within a certain range, like 1.8 to 2.2 inches. Higher or lower than that and you have the drivetrain out of line.

I think BHR had a blog post about that on their website. Not sure if it is still there (i know they have been restructuring their site lately).

what's the point of having all the other forum areas when the subjects being posted here in RX8 Discussion all belong in there instead?

You change the gasket when u put on headers?? Take it you did this with motor in car. Right?? I would take a piece of paper and hold the edge letting it hang over the header see if there is movement up and down suggesting exhaust gas flowing. Not really sure there is. quick easy safe way to test for leak off the header. Good luck

Covering the tail pipe and checking resistance is the only otrhe method I know if it won't let you cover it its prolly not leaking. Beat bet is to lessen bolts on header make sure she is on and retighten.

You can take a length of hose and use it like a stethoscope. Hold it to your ear and move it around where it might be leaking.
Or buy an actual mechanic's stethoscope.
