Drove an RX8 - WOW - buying questions..help

Color is a tough choice. I liked the Copper Red, but it came only with the Shinka package and I didn't want all that. My wife also thought I was nuts to even think of a red sports car, unless I wanted to meet every cop in the county.
Finally went for Galaxy Gray, which has a nice sophisticated look. But IMHO the styling of the car is so cool that it looks good in every color.
Power is another deal. I come from the opposite end of things. In my youth, the popular sports cars had maybe 100 HP. The 8 has more power than I've ever had before. I know it's not a drag racer, but I can leave traffic in the dust. Also change lanes by accelerating into a space ahead of me. Always disappointing when I then have to slow down. Any more power and I'd be really frustrated.

Screw gas mileage
is the crystal white or stormy blue color more rare or unique? th eRX8 is a unique enough car..but i wondred if either color was more "sought after". i liked the white exterior/black interior of the crystal white..very contrasting...sporty looking.
also, you ought to have no problem getting 3-4k off MSRP. These cars weren't sellin for MSRP when i bought mine, and that was over 2 years ago

Look at the price tag on a Porsche 911, and look at the engine that comes with them:

2.2 L flat-6, 125-180 hp (DIN)
2.4 L flat-6, 130-190 hp (DIN)
2.7 L flat-6, 150-210 hp (DIN)
3.0 L flat-6, 180-204 hp (DIN)
3.0 L Turbo-flat-6, 260 hp (DIN)
3.2 L flat-6, 217-231 hp (DIN)
3.3 L Turbo-flat-6, 300 hp (DIN)

the stormy blue RX8 on their lot actually has chrome rims...which kind of looks ok on the car...but to me..i'm not into chrome. the salesguy said if I wanted the blue car they would take the standard silver wheels off another RX8 and swap them.
to me, the RX8 looks weird with chrome.
so..decisions.
crystal white pearl touring with black cloth and the appearance package. msrp 31k
OR
stormy blue, GT, sand leather, with nav. msrp 34k.
hmmm...
to me the white one looked pretty cool..the white color shows off the fender flares more...and once the windows were tinted...the white/black would really look nice...there are black highlights in the lenses...and the vents all have black in them... the all dark interior looked nice even though it was cloth. very spartan looking..kind of how i feel a true sports car should be..
but the blue with sand leather...nav screen..heated seats... ti had a classier look.
too bad i don't need two of them.

Wish I would have got nav, only regret even though there are better ones on the market. Leather interior is overated and won't last more than a few years in the heat around here.
The ladies will love the blue, not so much the white.

Extraordinary Engineering
Both colors are great.
The test drive smile is nothing compared to the sustained smile of ownership every time you slide behind the wheel!
And the big grin every time you mod the car!

yeah..the salesguy was probably 150...not a big guy...but more than 100..
i found another local dealer that has a crystal white GT with sand leather. sounds SWEET. appearance package, 6 speed. only missing option is nav..whcih I don't really need.
msrp is 33k. i bet i can get them down to 30-31k. on a lease..with 2500 down, they are quoting me high 300s + tax. i think it was 371 + tax. so basically about 400 total / month. not bad for a new car that puts a smile on my face.
i KNOW i'd pay more ona purchase... probably 500+/month. my goal is to keep it for 2-3 years and then get somethig new.
white/sand would look slick.

White is by far the best color for the RX-8 IMO, it's also less common from what I've seen. The RX-8 is pretty busy to begin with so a subtle color compliments it well.

Personally, I bought silver because I like how the color highlights the lines of the car, especially at night. Darker colors, while I think they look nice during the day, get completely washed out at night...at least to my eye. The curves are what are so frickin' sexxay on this car.
Also, a previous poster indicated that if there was another color you wanted to have the dealer do a search for you. I almost did this but found that dealers like to tack on a fee for procuring the vehicle for you, making a trade with another dealer, etc. I wound up searching for the exact color I wanted on Mazda USA's website, drove 2 hours, and got one hell of a deal for the effort.
But back to your color choices, +1 for white. It was my third choice behind Ti Grey.
