Broke 16,000 Miles Today!
Check it out! 16k miles, 2004 with a 2003 build date, Grand Touring MT with Nav. Only problem was new battery at about 10k miles or so. Never flooded it and I have chanced it before and it cranks like a champ everytime! I get around 16.4 mpg per tank ALL city. Even when I spend 20 miles on the interstate, my mpg jumps up to 22 or so. I love this car!

Well, it's so low because I have only had it since August of 2005. It was new when we got it, and that's why I was able to get one that was loaded, rather than the base model. I chose to have the older model year loaded, than the newer model year with the base stuff. But, thanks for the comments!

Stuck in a love triangle
I would be closing in on 60k miles pretty soon if I still had the automatic I got in August 03. Instead, I'm at 25k with the manual I swapped to in April 05. I do about 15k a year.

I've got about 13.5k on mine its a 04 build with an 03 build date. BleedUNCBlue I think you saw my car (VR) the last time you were passing through Raleigh, NC. It's not my daily driver, although I've been driving it all this week since our daily driver is in the shop. I forgot how fun it was driving it in daily traffic, its a blast.
Go Heels! Ya Man they beat Duke last night!

I'm out of warranty in March, so it is coming to 3 years of happy ownership. The car has been very reliable the only thing it went in for was the heat shield recall. I've had the engine mounts replaced last year and it wasn't necessary, but I just asked them to replace them just so it gives me a sense of security that the engine mounts used are of the latest design. I reckon I still have the same old starter motor and the original battery. Bleh... my car starts up everytime and in some occassions it does crank slow, but it starts up.
The car is still idling smoothly, makes good power, gearbox still shifting smoothly and even the interior looks spanking new. Tyres OEM look pretty sad though and I need to change them soon .
Overall, I can't complain too much. Infact this car still gives me the same feelings when I first taken the car out of the dealership. I think I still look at my car everyday or at least sit in it. Just like Superman has his Fortress of Solitude, I have my RX8 to get into when I need to think. I dunno, it just gives me a sense of calm each time I get in the car. Call me crazy but I am having a ball owning this car!!!!
I'd like to see the day all the panels rusts out and the Renesis still starts and hummmsss along nicely!
Happy motoring.
