Dealership Problems in NY
#26
Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but most places charge at least $75/hr in NYC. I understand mechanics actually make a third or less of this. The rest goes to the shop.
I could be wrong but my understanding of Great Neck's 30k service is pretty extensive and not just a superficial oil change.
Don't quote me on this, but it probably includes radiator flush, cabin ventilation cleaning, intake system + throttle body cleaning, rotor resurfacing (if necessary), joint lubrication, tire rotation, fuel filter change, fuel injector cleaning, oil/filter change ...
But $480 seems a bit steep.

I've been going to Great Neck Mazda for quite some time. When they do a 30k (or other "milestone" service) the invoice will simply say "30k service as per our menu." The "menu," a separate card, lists what they perform. They at least snoop around the car with a drop light when you're getting an oil change, and note brake wear, tire wear, and other items that might be a problem.

But for lord sakes, don't go to Guiffre. Just don't.

When I had some engineCEL , Great Neck Mazda gave me loads of bullshit said that I have aftermarket parts, took pictures to send it to Mazda in order to try to void my warranty, sure ********. Its not my problem that you guys cant fix for ****. and stop blaming the others. You fat *** just lazy as crap.
Too bad I fixed it myself with just 15 minutes of my time, now 5K miles after no more CEL.
Then I asked them to fix my cracked rubber door seal, but they said mazda will void the car's warranty ... sure.
Maybe thats the reason why I just called Mazda and they told me my warranty is still there.
Im not going to get near there.
I should try what NewYorker saids, make an appointment at WayneMazda and try their service. Im getting another car soon, if their service is good I might just get it over there.
