I was amazed too at the attention the car gets...

Sadly, I haven't noticed much reaction when driving the new 8 this week. But I'm beginning to think I'm just having too much fun to notice - and maybe the wrong gender...
Last night, the wifey took the helm for the first time. Naturally, she first slowly cruised it past the local car hangout, and every one of them (10+) turned and just stared... It was almost embarassing, lol. I don't know if they were thinking "What a nice car!" or "What the heck is THAT?"
A little later, as we stopped at a red light, a guy in a Jetta a few cars ahead of us in the next lane first gave us a thumbs up, then climbed out his window to yell "You have a nice car!"
Ah, the power of a pretty girl driving a pretty car, lol...

Yeah, but I was passing through thier town.. about an hour away.
Have ya'll ever seen people try to explain the rotary engine to someone next to them, in the rear view mirror??
It's kinda funny.

"...I'm a Dapper Dan man"
Wooo hoo! 800 posts!
Just today I was returning from lunch and was heading back to the airfield (at Ft. Eustis, VA.) and just as I was passing the Pines Golf course a man and his daughter abruptly stopped riding thier bikes and turned around to watch me drive by. They were trying to see what kind of car it was. I gave them a wave as I was driving away! That was way cool!
