Check this out!!! I had just purchased my 8 and was leaving the dealership. The dealer I bought it from gave me 25 dollars to fill up with gas? So, I stop and put gas. While I was leaving (was about 8 o'clock at night) around the corner comes an older Integra almost hitting from the side. The driver gets out in coveralls with oil or grease all over his hands and face. I thought I was going to get car jacked so I fled off. When I pulled into the street I got caught at the light. I look back to see if he was still there and he was. But it was weird cause he was waiving me back and then putting his hand together like he was praying for me to go back. Then it clicked to me that he was just an admirer of the 8. So, I went back to the gas station and pulled next to him. I put down the window and this guy was like, " Oh my god, oh my god" like he was going to faint or something. He said,"this is like my dream car" he sounded kind of gay. But after a few questions about the car I told him I had to go. I new I made a good choice by getting my RX-8.

i get at least 3 people everyday giving my 8 compliments...everything from the token 'nice car' to the glamourous 'holy ****, what kind of....holy..thats the the the rx8, oh thats a rotary, that must really fly....nice ride" deal...

Children run towards the car and their parents try to keep them back while muttering "damn, that's a nice car", my 90 year old grandma was smiling across her whole face at 200 km/h while complimenting the black-red interior, people who told they would never buy a japanese car started to buy lottery tickets after seeing it, people on the walkway almost break their necks to shout compliments if I drive along.

And yeah, exactly one person told me she doesn't like it: my ex-girlfriend. No other proof needed. :D

I feel yall. I can see people driving towards me sometimes say "look at that car" just by reading there lips.

Where I am stationed at in NC there is a 8 in the front of the mall that is that is up for raffle. There is always a group around the car looking inside it and filling out tickets. Sometimes I like to drive right in front and revv my engine. The whole crowd just turns and all eyez are on me!!!! Makes me feel good.

This used to happen quit a bit, but I have to face facts, I see 2 RX8's on the way to work now, it seem's to be almost as commonplace as a Z or a Z convertible now in Austin.

However, for the first couple of months of ownership I got an amazing amount of attention.

1) "damn! what is it?... very nice!" 50-yr old man in the parking lot.

2) You know that Mistubushi commercial where this person drives around the ugliest car and people heavenly point at him like his car was some kind of a shooting star? Happens to my car, especially kids, but my car is purdy though

3) I drove by as a maroon Carrera tried to park and lots of kids (standing nearby) were watching it with awe. And then one kid spotted me and told the other kids. They then pointed at me and screamed "We like your car!!!". The Carrera driver looked at my car and smiled.

i went to downtown disneyland last night in anaheim, i valet parked it..my buddy behind me was following me in his new STi, everyone walking by was staring at the 8 but none at the STi...heheh I knew he was jealous...

I notice people checking out my car all the time. The best when the driver of the car in front of me on the freeway about 10-20 car lengths ahead stuck his hand out of his sunroof and gave me the thumbs up.

As far as girls go ALL of my female friends have told me that the RX8 is the hottest car on the road and even my exgf used it against me 'Now that you have that hot car youll be picking up lots of girls so dont tell me that you arent going to be dating'.

The 8 gets attention but not nearly as much as my Mini Cooper did. I was one of the first to get the Cooper and I'd have people hunt me down in stores to ask about my car. The best was when a guy in a titainium silver Ferrari 550 chased me down to check out mt car.

random worker at a Jack in the Box drive thru thought my car was a Ferrari... I didn't know how to explain it to him that it wasn't without making either him or myself look stupid.

Ive gotten alot of attention with the 8. I dont know if it is because I am a girl but its crazy. When I picked up the car from the dealer, I got about 2 miles down the road and I had a camaro pulling along side of me, revin his engine. Then at my first fill up, I had about 3 people at the gas station come up to me asking about the car and if they could look inside. Since half of my family members and almost all my friends work at a local car dealership, I brought the 8 down there to show them and not expecting anything I had about 30 people standing around my car, no kidding, most of them being mechanics so they were amazed by the engine. My most awarding moments, making it so that I would never have a doubt in my mind about the 8 was when I had my car in a recent car show with my friends RX 7 and that was a show. There was so many people amazed to see the 2 cars together. I got so many compliments, to admirations and then a 7 year old lil girl telling her dad that it was the prettiest car there and thats the car that she wants. It felt awesome!
I hope everyone else has been having some of the same moments. And I have to say that the only time I get negative comments is online from other car enthusiasts, mostly acura or honda owners but Im sure its just pure jealousy!!
