Is your name on the title, did you pay for it yourself?
If not, I wouldn't consider you an owner.

Good God have a heart man! Hell, unless you paid outright cash for your car with a 0 balance you don't "own" it either which would be the vast majority of owners. If he is the primary driver of the car then that if fine for the majority of the world.

And even if it was bought on "daddy's money" who cares. I would love for my pop's to buy me a car outright.

But legally he doesn't own it if his name isn't under the title... And if you want to get technical about it, he doesn't own it if he's not paying for the payments on it.

If there wasn't insurance I would love to key your car so you could earn the money to fix it.

Regardless who's name is on the title if you are making payments you don't own it. The bank onws it. The title just says

1. You are the responsibility party when the bank has to come get it.

2. Once the bank gets all it's money you are the sap that gets what's left over.

I don't see the big deal. If he is driving it and the payments are made then he's good enough of an owner for me. He's more of an onwer than anyone else on this board.

Same difference. He's not making the payments, his parents are. Therefore he is getting it free of charge.

If there wasn't police I would love to beat your ***, and what the hell is that, just cause I was lucky enough to get one you can't be congradulatory, this website is about having RX-8s and what we like about it, not to be someone like you, I started this thread to see how many people my age were on hereand I'm guessing your 28 or 29? Maybe you should grow up and act your age...your post was uncalled for.

But, at the end of the day it is his car. If I give you a shirt regardless if I paid for it, the shirt is yours.

Anyhow, someone who pays for their own car AND insurance is more respectable than an 'owner' who doesn't pay for their car. No kid should be given a 25-30k car. A 10-15k car I think is understandable (but not really), and is all a kid that age needs.

Thats one of the dumbest things I've heard. There is a huge difference between a $30 shirt and a $30,000 car. I guess only someone who understands the true value of money can understand that.

What in the hell does owning a car have to do with how respectable someone is? Talk about being materialistic.
