no man, the 1700 was a whole different case from last week. she got pissy about losing and did this to my car on friday night. the new quote on got on my car today was over 6000. she was my ex before all of this, and when she found out i bought this car a few months back, i guess it pissed her off beyond belief.

if the damages are over $6000, correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe it's technically a misdemeanor- ie unlawful willful destruction of property... i would DEFINITELY press charges and make sure that she gets it on her criminal record.

this is NOT something normal, sane people do... and, she deserves to get punished for breaking the law...

plus, if you let this go, she's going to just keep doing it no matter what car you get. do you really want this to go on and on?

the ONLY way to put a stop to it is to put the fear of God into her via by pursuing legal action.

just my 0.02...

no offense, but if you don't press charges, you are a moron. as others said, if you let her get away with it, the bitch will just keep on doing **** until it is gotten too far. you never know what someone this mentally unstable could possibly do.

j/k brah, that really sucks, and ex-gf or not, anyone who would do that to your car clearly has no compassion for you and doesnt care about your belongings, let the law punish her now

still too soon and I doubt the insurance is gonna total the car.
I had $5000 damage on my old maxima which was worth about $9000 they still fixed it.

so much for your prosecution.....it is evidence in the criminal case against her.
do you have completely awesome pix of all the damage?
you could ask the insurance company to store the car at their salvage yard for evidence in the case for a while just in case the cops think they need to inspect the car for the case. ..
and also the insurance co. may want to go after the crazy ex gf in a subrogation action. this is far from over.

Get the protection from abuse order (PFA) against her!!! It's easy to get and the advantage to you in the court system and hereafter is powerful when pursuing subsequent damages and actions. If she so much as sends you an email afterwards she can go to jail. Plus, any court judgement against her will most likely show up on a background check and follow her around.

I wouldn't mess around. You can't just go and slap the bitch silly (which would be my first reaction I'd be so mad). You'll be the one in trouble. So what recourse do you have? BE SMART about everything. Use your brains and keep it in the court system. You have nothing to lose. Now go file that PFA!

UPDATE: The car was totaled out. I paid 10,500 for it and im gettin a check for 12,560 (after deductible), but thats not the point. I loved that car lol. So, i'm not 100% sure what I can do now that my insurance company stepped in and took care of that. i think if i persue this out, the insurance company will go after her and get their money back. As far as for me, I guess the only thing I can do is a PPO, but thats not really gonna do much. The case actually got turned over to Domestic Violence last week because we were once in a relationship. if she does get convicted by the court, she is in some serious **** cause its now a felony.
