Clutch Gone?

I've replaced one clutch in a car for as long as I've been driving, well two... My 90 Talon TSIs clutch went at 94k miles (that car was probably launched 1000 times including at the strip), I drove the snot out of it, it was modded, and those cars supposedly had weak clutchs. The other I replaced was on my Maxima, but that was because the tranny bearings went at 96k and it just made sense to replace it while the car was apart.

I'm not surprised the clutch is only warranted for 12/12, since abusive driving habits could easily burn through the disc material before 50k (just like brake pads). However, with normal driving, you should easily hit 75k-100k miles before needing replacement. I replaced my Miata's at ~75k because I had a screechy pilot bearing and figured since I was in there I'd do the clutch... it easily had half of the disc material left. There were even guys on the Miata list with over 150k miles on their original clutch... and I'm assuming we have at least as strong a clutch as the MX5's tranny.
That being said, if you only have 6k miles I don't think you could destroy this clutch in that short amount of time if you tried. Keep an eye on it, but don't worry to much yet...

Mazda warranties the clutch for 12/12 only. HOWEVER, if you're not too much past that, or premature wear is an issue for your car (as it appears to be for the Mazda6), they can make exceptions, as was done for me on my Maz6 with 12,500 miles. It sometimes pays to get friendly with the service manager, and to have your oil changes and servicing done at Mazda.
What shoes you wear... where the pedal ends up when you release... or how big your D!ck is will not affect if you're clutch is burnt out. If you are screaming to 8000+rpm... and you hammer the next gear... and the revs do not instantaneously drop and grab, then you know your clutch is wearing out. When the clutch pedal is completely released, and the revs are still gradually falling down while under full throttle.. you need a new clutch.
I have the exact same problem with my clutch. My clutch catches much higher then it used to. I have 6000 miles on my car but in 10 days(halloween) I will have had my car for 1 year. I will be pretty pissed if the clutch goes soon and Mazda doesn't want to cover it with that low of miles on it. BTW it's not my first manual tranny nor do I drive the car hard.
