New Winning Blue

New Winning Blue
Hello everyone. I am pleased to announce that I purchased a 2004 Winning Blue RX-8 last Saturday, and so far, I absolutely LOVE IT! I bought it used, with 7,400 miles on it. It is in perfect condition and includes the Grand Touring Package, Appearance Package, and Navigation.
I traded in my 2001 Spa Yellow Honda S2000. My wife and I are expecting our second child in April. We both felt that it would be best to get a second car with a back seat (my wife drives a 2002 Dolphin Gray Audi A4). I will certainly miss my "S". It was an amazing car. I have had many cars in my life, but none had ever attracted as attention as my S2000 did.
I had also considered the Infinity G35 Coupe and Subaru WRX STi as a possible replacement for my S2000 but, I am glad I chose the RX-8 instead. I have owned four RX-7's (1985 Blue GS, 1986 Silver base, 1987 Black Turbo II, 1988 Black Turbo II) and loved them all. Out of all of the cars I have ever owned, my 1987 RX-7 Turbo II was without a doubt my favorite (so far). I even have framed black and white photos of it on the walls of my home (pretty sick huh?). I realize that it was not the fastest car in the world, and some didn't like the off-center hood scoop (my favorite part personally), but there was just something special about that RX-7 Turbo II that captured my heart and imagination. So far, I am starting to feel that way about my new RX-8. I hope it is simply not just infatuation.
I cannot remeber driving a car that handles so well, or accelarates so smoothly, as my RX-8. Although the Winning Blue was not my first choice of color, it is rapidly growing on me and I have already received several compliments on it.
Anyway, sorry about the long post. I guess I am just really, really excited about my new RX-8. I am also very excited about joining the RX-8 club. Driving another Mazda Rotary-powered sports car feels a little like coming home. Cheesy I know, but true none-the-less. :D

First, congrats on the car. My wife and I are expecting our 2nd child next year as well(in fact next April too). I am driving a Jetta VR6(AT) and also have 94 Miata M Edition(stick, love it). We are planning to replace the Jetta. I really like the RX8, but I am torn whether I should get it or something has more room and more practical (G35 sedan or possibly Subaru Legacy, don't know yet). Will I survive with an RX8 with 2 kids? We do have a SUV that I will drive when we go out as a family, but I do have to drop my kid (2 kids next year) to day care in the moring. Any suggestions or opinions are welcome.

Getting the kids out of the seat behind you is a little bit of a pain since the front door has to open first. If there's a child in the back passenger side seat but not the front, that's a big reach or a trip around the car during a drop-off. The kids think the car is WAY cooler than any 4-door or van!
