Napboy's very correct. California dealers don't seem to expect you to ruin the look of your car by providing free advertising for them. At most a license plate frame that you remove when you get the reoplacement frame you want. So much litigating out here I have to wonder if it's because of some past court case. When I see an out of state car that has a badge that has obviously been applied by drilling into the car I always get a little pissed. Something very crude about that.

OH MY GOD,,you are asking this question ?
Tell them to get that darn thing off YOUR CAR.
Are they paying you to advertise for them? I don't think so.

My car just had the license plate frame on it. As soon as I got home I took the stupid frame off and just left my temp tags on until I got my real plates. Now I just have plates with no frame or stickers....except my BMWCCA one, it makes people scratch their head a lot.

When I bought my car new, it had two dealer plates (front/back) and a dealer badge on the back. I took the front plate holder off relatively quickly, but it wasn't until I waxed my car the first time I got upset about the badge. I went back to the dealership about 1.5 weeks later and they took it off for me without any problems. The service/prep guy used a spray bottle and a rag to get the gunk off pretty quickly.

Smile of course...

Whenever I buy a new car I always request the dealer remove all stickers, decals, or anything pertaining to them and I have never had a problem with that. They just do it when they detail the car before giving it to me. It only takes a minute.

I just took mine off myself. I'm using their liscense plate frame for now. That's good enough for me...until I get some other plates. Then it'll be done for.

grab a smoke-covered plate for autozone for $5...looks awesome, not to mention it gives you a good excuse to get rid of the free advertising "wreath" that sits around yur plate! I've posted pics if you wanna see how smoke looks...it's not ricey at all...almost looks factory with the taillights!

My mother is the same way with buying her cars with requesting the badges be taken off. Save this one time when she bought a Camry, the dealership took off $500 and tossed in a years worth of oil changes to keep the badges on. Not common to be honest but my mother is at times very brutal car buyer. Why I didnt bring her when I got my Rx-8 I knew she'd have me buy a Mazda 3 haha.

I'd imagine the dealer wouldnt have any problems removing it for you and as many have said you can do it yourself.
