what has changed though? Isn't there STILL a problem?

It's great they extended the warranty, but how about finding out why all the engines failed to start with and fixing that as well.

I don't think it can be fixed in our engine. I think that's why you will see a redesign for 2009 coming soon to the dealer near you!

And the answer is YES. I drove in and the manger told me I had good news that the engine warranty had been extended to 5/60. I asked him to check again for 8/100 and he confirmed.

He said they had to follow Mazda procedure, so they flashed the car, did the paperwork. Now if I contiue to have any trouble with stalling or lack of power, and he emhasized "any" then bring it back for a new engine. They will do the work 100% at no cost to me and provide me a vehicle for the duration of the ordering and installing process.

So... I bought new tires. After all, I saved 6000 - 7800 dollars today. Cool.

I think any engine car warranty is great no matter what car. If subaru extends my EJ20t engine, I'd take it too. Won't you?

Mine arrived today - so I have until October 2011 or 100K. Looks like I'll hit 100K first since I have 68K on the original engine.

Or she gives you the coupon after you got the herps from her. I am going to hit 120,000 miles next week so none of this matters to me.

Free post! Just received my mailing today. At 36k on my '04, I won't be hitting the mileage limit (if I haven't voided it myself by then) before the warranty expires.

Got mine today. Came with a product update DVD and a reimbursement form for people who's engines would have been covered by the extension.

I'm happy about it, Maybe I should try using nothing but 5w-20 after all...

No. It's like your drug-addicted, cheating EX-girlfriend telling you the child isn't yours.

Saves you a lot of money in the long term.

I know why they have to:
I am the proud owner of a 2004.
On my second engine already.
Just found out my compression is down by 1/3, so I need a 3rd engine!

Good news? Maybe for selling it, I guess..

I've got about 92k miles on mine now. So my condom coupon should be good for about 4 more months

Good piece of mind, won't ever have to worry about paying for a rebuilt engine while I own the car.
