I haven't found any dealers that will actually give 7500-8000 off MSRP unless it's a grand touring that started off at 33-34K MSRP.

On the sport models the best I've seen is about 7K off or 24 and change out the door with appearance package.

I picked up this one a few weeks ago,

05 RX-8 Manual Sunlight Silver with cloth interior
Sport Package
CD Changer
Shock Sensor

29650.00 Sticker MSRP

$21400.00 out the door after I pay it off, just financed for the MAC (Mazda Credit) incentive, so I put 10 down and will pay the other 11,400 when the 1st bill comes. Hopefully next week or so....

Nice, I found a good deal on a sport/appearance/rotary accent and i'm going to have them add cargo net/all weather floor mats, illuminated shift **** and aluminum gas door.

Price before ala carte options is 22,000 out the door. Probably see if they can do the options all together for maybe 200 bucks more.

Homey, there are no agressive deals on 2006's, particularly Shinkas... I didn't want a year old car and was set on Shinka/CopperRed. Compare apples to apples my friend...

I did get $2000 off with incentives and some bargaining. Thought that was pretty good for '06/Shinka/Copper Red. Taxes and financing another story we all deal with!

Seems like it would've been much cheaper to just get one that already had the grand touring package with red/black leather. The dealers are giving bigger discounts on fully loaded models. I imagine you could've gotten 26-27 OTD if you had gone that route.

In addition to the numbers stated here I think it's important to state the interest rate you paying (in the case of financing). We all should know that this interest rate is what is seriously going to save you coin.

MSRP: $31,920.00
Price: $24300 (OTD with taxes and liscense fee for Queens NY $26567.62)
Model: 2005 Whitewater MT
Options: Touring, Appearance, Rear wing.
Date purchased: May 17 2006 (pick up date)
Location: Queens, NY
Finance/Purchase: Financed through MAC @5.9% which is Mazda's buy rate,
New/Used: New

Basically some additional info. Make sure you guys buying a 2005 get the buy rate for Mazda. Typically Mazda buys the finances through Northfork/Chase at 5.9% for a 60 month term. The finance manager then adds 1 percent to your bill to make financing anywhere between 6.9-7.9%. This is where car dealers make money off a sell in addition to servicing.

My credit is excellent so I decided not to make a downpayment (I can get better interest investing more into my stock portfolio) and my monthly payment is $512.38. The salesman suggested I pay $625.23 a month at 6.9%. I got up from the table and he basically reached out to me and suggest I stay while he talked it over with some other people.

MAKE SURE YOU GET 5.9%. If not just walk!

MSRP: ~$31,500.00
Price: $28630 after 6% tax on MSRP ($1860) and fees.
Model: 2005 Black 6spd
Options: GT package, 6disk changer, mats, rotary accent, appearance, spoiler, roof deflector
Date purchased: May 12, 2006
Location: Northern NJ
Finance/Purchase: Financed
New/Used: New - Demo (5922 mi)

Went into dealership with an S-plan # for a 2006 (cutoff for 2005s was March 31st) and did a test drive. Gave the dealership the list of what I wanted (black/black, GT, 6spd, appearance, spoiler) and told them to find one. They did, but not exactly what I wanted. I could order one new or I could buy the one the GM was driving for 4k less. Conveniently, it was exactly what I wanted and I took it.

wow, a lot of awesome deals taken here... i noitced that the discounts are a lot bigger when people bought a prior model year in the current calendar year. (ie, buying an 04 in 05 or buying an 05 in 06)... (my stats on page 2)

Thanks for your post, time4akshun. Not a lot of data here on Shinkas or '06s, as you know. It's helpful to have this information, also helpful to know that people are willing to post their purchases even if they didn't rip off the dealer.
