Mazda has partnered with AEM on this product but from what I have been told by Mazda is that we did have them do a little redesigning of the product to fit into Mazda's product quality window. He didn't go into what those changes where but he did say that Mazda felt that they where needed.

I thank dro and ddub for the pictures.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but does the installation require you run without the "Renisis" plastic shield?

What about a cover for the area where the airbox used to be?

I'd like to keep a more stock look under the hood, and minimize noise...maybe i'm fooling myslef in thinking i can do that, with a CAI on the rx8.

Yes that is correct. I will be running this price as an introductory price for the that will end at the end of this month.

If you have a good imagination and some decent skills I am sure you can either modify exsisting parts or make your own.

It will require some minor modifications, but you can keep the stock look completely.

This was quite clever, and maybe it can help you out.

is this true
someone posted this in another section

" actually went to the dealer today to see how the MS CAI was like, they actually took it off the list, it went back to production, the service manager and parts sales girl said, because there was a problem with the MAF sensor......so they don't know when it will be back up for sale.... so stupid its Mazda certified, they shouldn't have a problem... but whatever

Sometimes it is sad that some dealers instead of doing a little investigation to find out what really is happening or going to happen with a product they take the easy way out by just making **** up.

There is a long list of reasons as to why it has taken as long as it has to get these CAI's to market. Some I have stated before others I have been asxked to not release but I can definatly tell you that MAF sensor issues have not been 1 of the reasons. Most of the delay has just been red tape. That is the last thing we are waiting for for is 1 last piece of red tape and then they are all ours.

Still look like it's going to happen in the next 10 days? I've been holding off pre-ordering one, because of a money situation, but I have the loot now.

I just don't want to pre-order this if I could have the AEM now and this one like 10 years from now :D

As of yesterday, there is no change to ETA. Just waiting for the lst step to be done. As for pre-ordering I don't charge you until the day it ships and I will usually give you a 2-3 day notice before that happens.

Pre-Ordered... That notification would be great, because I want to order the MS Exhaust also, but don't want it getting here way before the intake.

If we do not pre-order the MS CAI will we have a shot of receiving one after they are made available. Will you have enough supply on the initial shipment to satisfy the pre-orders and the other orders after the intake is made available?

Might as well pre-order. You don't get charged til it ships, and you could always cancel the order.

JM also said he was going to tell us af ew days before it ships.
