FYI---Mazdaspeed update

As we all know the exhaust will be out very shortly.

CAI- In the final stages of development should have new part#'s and updated pricing very soon @ mid FEB is my best guess. It is not a dead part as some have announced before. When I have solid info on pricing and ETA I will announce it in this thread.

I'm just looking forward to getting all of them to my customers. Mazda has taken long enough.

Looking forward to getting mine too! And I'd like to compliment it with that MS CAI when it finally comes out.

I'm looking forward to that one too. From what I was told the price is going to be very competetive to the aftermarket with better tolerances and the whole non-warranty voiding aspect is the kickassest(new word) part about it.

Not to get off topic, but I'm looking for the new Mazdaspeed spoiler and fenders featured at the Tokyo Auto Salon. Do you have an ETA on these parts, and what colors are available? I have a VR 8

Thanks

Haven't heard of any future MS body items as of yet, and honestly I wont look for any info on new items such as those until late this year when we start seeing pictures of the updated RX-8.
From what I read on those items they where mainly design studies more than actual kits coming out from Mazda, but I have been suprised before.

Yeah, me too. I have high hopes for this exhaust! Understandably, I'm a little apprehensive since no one outside of Mazda has ever seen this thing or heard how it sounds. But I'm counting on it being on par with or better than the other exhausts available right now.

I was reading through some old threads and came across a Mazdaspeed CAI conversation, where a lot of people were dissing Mazdaspeed quality. As for myself, I didn't really like the look of the Mazdaspeed CAI that was pictured in the thread (it was for another car), and I'm hoping it turns out to be a different design for the RX-8. However, other MS products I've purchased have been very high quality, if not over-priced. The exhaust was surprisingly inexpensive.

Well the CAI is going to be competetivly priced with the aftermarket units and be very similar in design to the AEM CAI. As for an ETA and actual pricing I hope to see something on that in the couple of weeks.

I've heard good things about the AEM CAI design, so that's promising. Hopefully Mazda will improve upon it too.

Here is my feeling on the Mazda design.

It will be built to higher tolerance's for a better fit, there should be absolutely no need to modify anything to make it fit and best of all your warranty will not be affected by having a CAI installed on your car.

The info that I have is that I should see them between now and the 18th. Probably closer to the 18th than now.

As I get more info on the CAI I will post it.

On the updated body kit items I honestly doubt that we will see anything new from Mazda for the current body style, but when the do the updated RX-8 we may see a slightly expanded catalog.

I just got confirmation from Mazda that there will be no further MS body parts developed for the current RX-8. As for what is going to be offered on the refreshed RX-8, nothing to report as of right now.

The wheels are available... at least in JDM. It was announced on the JDM Mazdaspeed site. As for the bodykit... who knows. I would have given a very "not likely", but then the wheels came out, so it could be possible. However, the exhaust is different than this new one coming out. That bodykit uses a Ti exhaust system (at least tips) and the tips are oval, not circular. Something that makes me think it coming out is unlikely are the fenders... they are very different with the vent on top and the side vent with integrated strakes is very different than what is currently available.
